New to NMS, first freighter but it's good I think? A bit lost.

So I’ve only been playing NMS for about a month but I’ve been lurking in this subreddit for a bunch of really useful information. I normally only get to play for a couple hours about 3 nights a week but tonight I finally used the Voice of Freedom item (I didn’t know what it did) and it gave me a quest to go to a pirate system and once I warped there, I lucked into finding this Freighter. I know S class is the best but I also know this is not one of the super rare Dreadnought ones so I wanted to check before pouring a ton of money and effort into this one to see if it’s worth it or if I should just minimally upgrade this one and hold off. (I am only this rich because some nice person gave me a bunch of ship AI valves at the Anomaly?) I would also love to know if there any recommended layouts for building on a freighter? Just started No Man's Sky last night. Wish me luck (VR)
My brother gave me this for my bday, knowing that I have a VR headset.
I have been looking at its developments since release, but didn’t yet jump on board.
I am still getting through the tutorial, but aside from the joystick in the ship, it works really really really well in VR.
Can’t wait to see the rest of what it has to offer. Still on the base building part of the tutorial.
This game looks huge, so I’m glad there’s a nice subreddit here.

is there a way to remove these updates from the side of the screen?
