Any idea how I can get this thing to be next to my freighter or something?

I know infinite possibilities etc. but what’s the point to these animals gameplay wise? Most of them aren’t hostile and even if you kill them they don’t drop anything super usefull. It only upsets some nearby sentinels which can result in some battles but the creatures themselves don’t pose any challange or real threat. Hell even the plant’s managed to kill me by surprise since they sometimes blend in with the surrounding, which is more than the animals do. Food wise they aren’t as important since food isn’t necessary, even in survival mode which is an odd choice.
Also like 90% of these animals are not really aesthetically pleasing. Some of them look goofy and even made me laugh but there was never a “wow I need this thing as a pet” moment. The movements and animal “type” sometimes doesn’t even match the environment. Like swimming on land, or bulky cow like creatures with hooves living in the water. It just kills the imersion for me. Most of them are also either gray or a shade of brown, rarely do I find something with vibrand colours. They also get very repetitive.
My most hated animal type is the flying “turd”. I have found many great planets I wanted to settle on and then I saw these snakey flying brown turds over the horizon and I immediately left.
My biggest disappointment however are the Sandworms. I didn’t know these things where in the game and I encountered my first one on a very eerie infested red planet. I almost shat myself when that thing plowed through the surface next to me. I noped out in hoorror thinking that finally there is something I can be scared of in this game. But later I learned they are just for show. And this made me mad, because I love the concept and the Idea of a giant animal like this. But there is no interaction with it. You can’t scan them, they don’t take damage, they don’t attac you or any structures or make any impact on their surroundings. Like why? What’s the point?
The fauna of this game desperatly needs an overhaul in both design and funktionality. I know this comparison is not something people here want to hear, but this game would benifit from a “starbound like” fauna design. Not meaning it should work the same way, but making liveforms more threatening, fit in more with the biomes and give them even more design variety. Animals like massive wooly mamals on frozen planets, or more “rocky” and protective designs on super hot planets. Animals that spit acid and drop materials accordingly. Imagine beeing able to harvest wooly animals and create star silk on your own or something like that.

Noticed I could do a thing. So I did a thing. Accidentally captured hitting the real Thethys with my Magikarp 🤣😅 couldn’t have timed that if I tried. Hope you guys get a kick outta this too. It was a lot of fun standing next to him for a while and confused players were investigating me. Changed my name to Iteration: Thethys too so when I emoted or used chat it wouldn’t break the illusion. If only I could take that backpack off. Since it makes you wear one I picked the design that felt like he would most likely wear. Looks pretty darn good I’d say. Getting colors just right was a fun bit of back n forth. submitted by /u/RedditModsR_Bullies |

Five years ago I wrote this:
“I cannot wait to boot up the game and just walk in any direction, exploring. To see what’s behind that cliff, or what’s inside that deep mysterious cave. Imagine climbing a mountain during sunset and just take a break up there. Hearing the wind and see how day slowly turns into night. Seeing blinking stars appear in the nightsky. Knowing that if you want to, you can get your own spaceship and visit those stars. I’m definitely ready to lose myself in this game. Experience the feeling of being completely lost somewhere and not knowing what to come next”.
This dilemma still holds up to this day.
It’s one of those games you can play however you want. As an adult with a full-time job and family, I value the chill exploration. No need to “keep up” with anything.
The link below is an email I wrote to Hello Games in September 2016:
With an incredible team as HG and their hard work, I can’t be anything else than grateful for what you’ve done for the game and yet alone, the community ❤️
Thank you.

I bought No man sky in 2016 when the game came out on ps4, it was a lonely universe then but I still had fun. Hello games has really created the best space sim out there in my opinion. I play no man sky on pc now and I recently returned to playing afte…

To buy upgrades for my capital ship, I’m constantly getting in trouble because I attack other capital ships to steal their modules. This process is painfully slow and sometimes dangerous. Is there a better way to obtain the salvaged frigates modules?

I just started my first permadeath save, in the hope of giving the game a more “lost in the universe” feeling. I didn’t even use the starter ship, thinking, oh it will be more realistic if I have to go find a crashed ship, fix it, then get offworld. H…
