SCAMMED !

Flair says discussion but this is a bounty !

So I just bought a new ship, Shield of the Oharat. The ship itself is nothing special, just a class C fighter with decent cargo space. Not something I needed and definitely not worth the 15 mil units, normally. However ! This beauty just so happened to be colored all black, a favorite design of mine. The unique, sleek looking ship caught my eye immediately and I had to have it because it looked so cool. So I emptied the cargo of a spare ship of mine and traded for around 13 mil units. I was pretty happy, despite over paying, when all of a sudden, as soon as the trade was finalized, the ship loads it’s actual color and it’s baby poop green with yellow highlights ! What a rip ! So if anyone happens to come across that seedy, shady SCAMMER of a Gek called Worker Issga, I’m paying 1 mil for his head ! 😡🤬

Please make it easier to select star ships aboard a space station. I'd suggest the following:

Hi, this has been a nuisance for me for such a long time. I kept hoping a future update would implement a system that would make the nuisance go away, but here we are, years later, and it’s still a terrible oversight. I have no idea if Hello Games reads this forum still, but if they do, please consider this!

Not having a system in place to select your active star ship while on board of a space station is a plainly bad design flaw. The game has many ways to obtain crashed ships now, through the Minotaur’s scanner, the Nautilon’s scanner or simply through the old communication towers. You can easily collect up to ten of them in, say, half an hour of playing. It’s really not that hard! I sometimes go on a hunt for downed ships, see if I can find anything cool, but usually end up with a bunch of ships that I’d like to see scrapped.

So, say you want to destroy said ships at the Starship Outfitting station inside a space station, you have to: drop your freighter in front of the station, board your freighter, hop in the ship you want to have destroyed, make sure its engines are fixed, get off your freighter, fly it over to the space station, destroy it, return to your other ship and repeat this for any other ship you’d like to turn in. And that’s if you’re lucky, because sometimes you can’t even board the ship on your freighter, because it’s not on display in your hangar. If that is the case you need to go to a planet, summon it, fix the engines and then fly back to the station.

I would really like to see an option on the Starship Outfitter station where I can select my active ship. This would be absolutely ideal for scrapping ships. However, if adding that option to that particular station is not an option for some reason, I firmly believe we need to be able to select our active ship somewhere else. Perhaps on the Station Core station in the back of the space station, the one where you can do an override or repair your standing. Or maybe Hello Games can implement another station somewhere.

Please do this, Hello Games! I implore you! Thank you for reading!

Nom nom

Somebody looks hungry. Pretty neat deep space encounter. For size scale, look closely towards the tongue and you’ll see the piece of chewing gum that is my ship. submitted by /u/Key-Active-8170 [link] [comments]

No Man's Sky would benefit from an in-game civilization system

There are a number of player formed civilizations in NMS, but the game itself doesn’t have any kind of system for forming and joining civilizations. Given the current state of multiplayer, with most players having access to the same universe, now would be a good time to implement such a system. Not entirely a new concept, but some features might include:

  • The ability to form a civilization and recruit other players. Civ names can appear next to players’ gamertags/usernames that are members of a civilization.
  • A governance system where players can create ranks that have different privileges.
  • Players could create custom flags for their civs.
  • Claiming starsystems and planets as part of a civilization.
  • co-ownership and management of bases, settlements, and freighters.

Now a system like this would probably go hand in hand with a major settlement overhaul, as part of the same or separate update. Settlements could act as the hearts of civilizations as players work together to grow, maintain, and defend settlements across their civs. A settlement update might include:

  • More freedom over where a settlement is established, what players can build in a settlement, the layout of settlement specific buildings, and the number of settlements a player (or civ) can own.
  • Settlement requirements like food, water, hazard protection, life support, power, and housing.
  • Implementing the existing farming, mining, power, and cooking mechanics in the game.
  • The ability to establish trade routes via frigates between settlements and bases. Trade routes may need to be defended against pirates from time to time.
  • Settlement building that serve specific functions and can be damaged or destroyed during sentinel attacks.
  • Set up defenses against sentinel attacks.

What do you guys think? Is this an update you’d like to see at some point? Are there any other features you’d want implemented in a civilization update?
