Hello travelers, I’ve recently fallen in love with No Man’s Sky and after around 30 hours of solo play I wanna dive into some multiplayer missions.
I’m playing on Xbox and as far as I know there’s no way for me to chat in public chat at the Anomaly and a lot of the chat I see is weird undefined characters I cannot read for some reason, so I never know what I’m supposed to do when I join a random group at the Nexus and they all start typing and splitting up into different systems. I don’t know if they’re mad at me for not knowing what to do or if they’re just vibing and talking with each other.
This made me wonder: what is the etiquette for random multiplayer sessions in NMS? Does everyone just go straight for the mission? Can everyone just do what they want? Is it better to split up?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Haven’t played in a few years, but I remember being annoyed my friends and I would try to explore a planet and one of us kept having to stop for a storm but the others didn’t have anything. So one person just gets left behind all the time.
Those ever get fixed? Or is there maybe a mod to either sync or just eliminate them entirely?
