They say starships colours and names are randomly generated, well here’s a coincidence… a green solar named Irish

So two years ago or so, I made this post referencing finding my collector’s edition box in the garage.
Since I haven’t played NMS in a looooong time, I forgot about it, and then today while cleaning out some boxes I found it again.
It occurred to me that someone in this community might actually really enjoy having it instead of putting it in their garage, and so if the mods are cool with it, I propose a contest.
Write me a two-sentence sci-fi story. Any genre. Whichever post has the most upvotes come Monday, I’ll get your address info and ship it to you.
I can cover the cost of shipping for basic ground within the US, I can’t afford to spend $100+ shipping out of country or whatnot, but I’m happy to ship it to anyone in the world who wins as long as they are able to cover the shipping costs for out-of-country.
Mods, if this isn’t an okay thing to do, let me know if there’s another way I could get this into the hands of someone who would like to have it.

I started with No Man’s Sky in 2016 when it launched on Steam and I was immediately captivated by how beautiful it was. But as an amateur photographer who does a lot of panoramic photography, it also occurred to me how well suited the game was to the same treatment. The result is my Flickr album with nearly 100 panoramic images from the 6-1/2 years I’ve been playing. (Posted as a Flickr Album because of sheer quantity, and because Reddit doesn’t lend itself to wide-aspect photos). I started creating panoramic images from the game that first week. It was a lot harder in the early days: there was no photo mode so things kept moving while you shot each frame, you couldn’t disable the scan lines or vignetting, you couldn’t adjust the lighting or time of day, and placing your ship precisely was next to impossible. It’s gotten a lot easier over the years. Most of the images are stitched together from between 20 and 30 individual frames, and then cropped to frame. Most end up between about 5 and 6k wide. I’ve been doing it off and on. Most of my panos are from NEXT and earlier, and then from Prisms and beyond (I took a pause form the game between Visions and Origins, so there are gaps). And I have a number of sequences that I never got around to assembling. submitted by /u/SkySchemer |

Hello everyone, Steam has the game on sale and so I´ve decided to give it a try. I had many great hours since then by trying out various things. But when I went to the anomalie first I got a pleasant suprise: While checking the various NPC someone send…

I don’t interact with like 50% of the games content anyway so if something optional like shipbuilding will make me upset I can just ignore it like I ignore pets and farming and auto miners and literally any space combat. I haven’t played the update yet but the one thing that I do hope for is for unmodified naturally generated ships be unmarked while visually customized ships have some kind of tag in the UI. But if not it’s not a big deal.
