Oasis of Osiris

Oasis of Osiris

Someone in the Interstellar Index FB group sent out a challenge to build the pyramid depicted in the AI image. I feel like I did a good job.

I hope you visit the “Oasis of Osiris. I’ve wanted to do an interesting and unique pyramid build. This was the perfect muse. The Oasis is in Euclid and is 3000 parts uploaded with about 14 hours of work. Please note that the base is strictly a façade to match the AI image. I’ve been continuing to work on it into an over-limit base. I’d be happy to join you in a game if you’d like to see all of what I’ve been up to in the interior that you won’t see since that couldn’t be uploaded. Enjoy all!

I have become obsessed, please save me.

I’m a retiring Web Dev, been playing NMS since it came to the Mac and I’m planning to weave both of my interests together and build a NMS Multiverse ‘fake corp’ website where I can share ship finds, builds and tips. Am I mad?

I found I can fork my saves, by duplicating save files and so can have 15 ‘employees’

ChatGPT makes everything so easy.

Playing without a ship

I’m thinking about trying to play without a ship, basically doing a solo roleplay where I lost my ship for some reason. (Im probably gonna delete it on a save editor or just pretend I don’t have a ship anymore) I know the idea sounds tedious at first, and it probably will be, so I’d love ideas on how to make this experience interesting, for exameple: On which kind of system and planet should i try it? In which game mode? Any suggestions are helpful Obviously it will have to be on a planet where it is possible to find a crashed ship and repair it, also im gonna try on a planet where i can build a base + a vehicle. So… Thats all, thanks for any help 😀

Swapping Freighters

I have a couple of questions about freighters that I hope are simple:
How often do you guys swap freighters? I still have the first one I came across, a class C thing that I’ve expanded a bit but not a lot. Is it worth swapping for an A or S class if I come across it?
When you swap, you lose inventory. Is that just what’s in the freighter’s own inventory, or anything stored in the numbered storage cubes as well? I take it you also lose any installed things like fleet command terminals, farms etc, right?

Found "Inhabited Building [Inhabitants Unknown]" thing.

Might be spoiler if you want to explore things yourself. Otherwise read below.

I don’t know if there is any lore related to this, but most likely many of you already saw something similar, and although I explored that planet well enough, I didn’t find them other than in that very spot. They look like some kind of fairy house or something. You can enter inside but there is nothing, but knowing that this is a Gek system, I would say that this was a prehistoric Gek house, before they reached the stars? Or maybe it was some leftover assets left behind by Hello Games to add NPCs to planets?

When I enter the structure, the game detects it as “Inhabited Building [Unknown Inhabitants]”.

Basically this:

Craft Stasis Device without farming at all

I don’t know if I am super lucky or this could be replicated without too much RNG and/or even sooner than other method. Plus I don’t like farming.

So, while I am buttering Merchant Envoy across galaxy for the sweet sweet free Frigate Module, I found out you could buy all ingredients for Stasis Device at level 7 standing.

I got 2 stations with these discounted item combo: Circuit Board + Cryo-Pump and Superconductor + Living Glass. Cobalt, Paraffinium, Phosphorus, Dioxide are easily to purchase from terminal/trader.

So all I need to do is jumping between those station and refining Ionised Cobalt. With a start of a couple million from scrapping crashed starship.
