Fairly new and getting attacked by another player?

I understand that the internet is a cesspool where <self-censor> rule, but I was just building myself my first decent base… and I got attacked. Firstly, why? Secondly, who is this complete <self-censor> named BelgeDuCarre. Anyway, he just kept attacking me. Every time I respawned he killed me again, and I haven't been playing long enough to be able to defend myself. This is not something I was expecting to deal with anyway. I couldn't even escape to my ship to get away. After about the 10th time, I quit. Maybe when I reload one day, the <self-censor> won't be there. Is this something normal that players need to deal with? *The first draft of this was deleted by the mods*

An Update Long Overdue...

I have been playing NMS since its release in 2016 and it’s procession from the game it was to what it is now has been tremendous, but I feel one are of the game has been completely overlooked. More than half of the planets in the game feature water, but there isn’t much to do there. Most ocean have the same life, regardless of what type of planet it is on and the variety of sea life is shockingly inadequate. To add to all of this, did you know there is a submersible and base pieces for underwater bases? Great, however there isn’t really much incentive to build here as most seas are very shallow and it isn’t much fun to take your submersible to a depth of 20′.

It would be great to really “dive” into the potential for the ocean, seas and lakes found all throughout the galaxies. Deeper ocean, carverns, cliffs and other underwater features could be cool to explore. If they made the oceans VERY deep (600m+), to the point that you count feasible explore without a submersible, that could be cool. A greater variety of sea life, some that could even be rideable underwater could be fun to experience. Lastly, there is great potential with the base parts designed for water areas.

I know exploring space and planet-side is the big draw to the game, but I wonder how much of this is driven simply based on the fact that water in this game is more of a hassle than an experience. What do you all think about the possibilities of a water-based update?

Everyone, this is my new favorite Starship Upgrade Module dealer, Ras. Ras does business out of a 2 star system in Euclid, for which the glyphs are pictured.

Ras’s shop is the BEST. He sells S-class upgrade modules for Hyperdrive, Pulse Engines, Shields, Photon Cannon, AND Positron Emitter. If photon + positron is your loadout, as it is mine, then you never need to shop anywhere else. As with all shops, he restocks his wares when you reload your game.

Stop by Ras’s place and spend some nanites, there isn’t that much foot traffic in 2 star economies, and my dude has sentient beacons to care for. Mention my name to get zero percent off!

My current ship collection

My current ship collection

I’ve currently got hold of a few good ships. The 3 Interceptors are my favourite designs I’ve found. I said I wouldn’t replace my red fin-wing Interceptor unless I found a blue and orange one… it was the next one I found. Currently the Ra Cailum and the Ethereal are my go-to favourites. The Sandstorm is my only purchased ship from before Orbital that I’ve clung to. It’s never let me down, why get rid of it?
