20 hours in, this is NOT a base building game!!!
I’ve seen videos and some articles that have complained about NMS being an “overglorified base building game” or “next gen minecraft” but I can’t even believe that people would take that opinion given the amount of content in the game!!
I’m 20ish hours in, have a pretty shitty square base that just holds my base computer save point and storage units, and the story of the game + exploring planets and documenting fauna alone has been MORE than worth the 60 dollars I’ve payed for this game.
Not only that, I’m not even close to getting to the center of the galaxy, hell I haven’t even found Artemis yet (if that actually happens?) and I already feel as if I’ve gotten my money’s worth just from the story and exploration alone.
All this being said, 20 hours of story and insane exploration to not even be halfway through the game, not even having a new ship yet, and I’m blown away that I’d seen people label it as a base building game. Totally ridiculous!!!

Tips on building outposts dedicated to getting resources?

For example to collect Runaway Mold (the case on this moon), rare plants or to mine resource deposits. Anything. I’m still fairly new to the game and I’ve only built 2 outposts so far (and no real base). I place some small building for safety and a teleporter with access to electricity, and a landing pad. Butterfly of Destiny

So I’ve never seen the wild fauna do this before. As I was destroying my base, this little butterfly landed on the last piece. I was rebuilding it cause the mission wants me to build a cylindrical room. And I was also going to move to another ice planet cause this one has frequent storms. Me and the Boys

I have two best friends who stopped playing NMS for a really long time because of their job (I have a job too). I felt a little bit sad that time. After several days, I found out about the squadron feature. I’m like, okay, this is cool. I have starships to fight with me when doing pirate missions. Hours later, I thought maybe I could recruit a pilot who has the same ship as my bois. It’s so awesome when there’s a freighter battle or conflict; they will warp in then engage, I really feel like I’m fighting with them. Every so often, I even let them have the last hit. Sometimes when roaming in space, I’ll call my squadron to feel like I’m playing with them. We’re still active in chats though, and that’s why I’m not that sad. Hello first time writing here, just sharing some of my travels.
Hello guys long time watching this reddit but since back then I still had a few hours in the game I felt I had little to share yet. Well now 150 hours in I have quite a bit to share and quite a bit of questions for those of you that have even more knowledge about the game. Some pics are just cool pics from my adventure others are connected with a question.
I’ve seen these ships all around the anomaly but I have no idea what they are. I know about living, sentinel etc.. But what are the ships in the first few images even called ?
Just me arriving at my first \”main base\” (I didn’t really get into base building until late game)
When you guys are away in the anomaly doing your space business I take pictures of your ships!
First S class really didn’t like it but it had stats.
Just some old school planets still haven’t invented color over there!
Almost final version of my Evil Bioengineering lab! + the new S class ship.
Pretty but I’m stuck on this quest since I don’t have all the glyphs the living ship is far away 🙁

Massive frame drops on PS5
So I’m pretty new to this game and I’m playing on PS5. I keep getting massive frame drops and lag, and this last time it lagged it even made my PS5 home screen lag until I closed the game. Is there any way to fix this?
