Do first aid stations only work in pre-fab buildings? Is there no way to power them if you build a base from scratch? submitted by /u/GhStRdR2k [link] [comments]

I wasn’t sure I’d complete it all but I did, just today. ANd man, what a blast it was. i had the game when it was released but i haven’t played much at all. Omega has really inspired me to play more and I can’t wait to get to the point where i can build my little hovel on Earth 2.0
send me some interesting places I should visit when I’m finally able to
kudos to the NMS team. they’re doing a great job.

Hey not sure if anyone else is having this issue. I like to build my bases a stair level or two over the ground: It keeps the terrian from getting wiggy when I’m slapping down pieces and it looks nice out the windows. Consistently, I’m finding when I teleport to a base I spawn underneath it, and when I reload a save, I end up spawning in, again, under the base. In the past I would avoid this issue by building a room UNDER my save point and I would just spawn into the room but now no matter what I’m spawning on the ground. This isn’t a bug report, I’m just curious if any other Travelers are experiencing the same thing?
EDIT: Just adding: I’m playing on PC.

Hello all!
Just thought I’d share this with the community for any new people who are struggling to get nanites.
When you are out there exploring planets, you sometimes come upon Curious Deposits. These are piles of Runaway Mold (green spheres that actually roll down the hill they are on once you mine them). You can refine these into nanites at rate of 5:1. So a full stack nets you 2k nanites.
Sometimes these deposits have 1 or 2 spheres, those are tiny. You are looking for decent sized ones, like 10+ spheres.
Once you find one, follow these steps:
1) Place a base computer. Name it whatever (I name mine Runaway Mold 01 <Planet Type>). If this will be your only Mold base, you can leave off the “01”. More on that later.
2) Build a Portal, 1 Battery, 2 Solar Panels. Hook them all up.
3) Build a Save Point
4) Build base walls in FRONT of the Mold Spheres so when they start rolling down the hill when you mine them, they hit the wall and you don’t have to go chasing. Just corral them real good.
This is pretty much it. You then mine all the spheres and get the Mold. I use a Multitool that has all my mining upgrades in Super Charged slots. If you don’t have an extra MT for this, just temporarily rearrange the one you got. I can grab 20k Mold in one go at one of my spots.
After you mined it all, save at your Save Point. Then reload the save point. Once you’re loaded, all the Mold Spheres will be respawned. And you just do it again over and over and over. I can collect around 30k worth of Nanites in just under 10 minutes.
For those not wanting to do the reloading due to immersion breaking or whatever, you can also just use the portal and go to anywhere, then portal right back and the spheres will be respawned. If you find a second good spot, built a base there with a portal and just port between the two.
Hope this helps someone struggling for Nanites!

I’m a day-one player, on and of for the last 8 years. I like the game at launch, but I took a huge break after getting to the center. I tried (and loved) the VR update, but it wasn’t until last year that I started playing again consistently… and …
