NMS HOT POST

Starting a New Save Was Made ALOT Easier.

So I just started a new save for the new update and turned off Tutorial as I usually do and I noticed the early game was changed dramatically.

You no longer need to craft the scanner, analysis visor, and terrain manipulator on your starting multi-tool and you don’t need to repair OR even install the hyper drive on the radiant pillar.

With that said, the early game hazard protection buff you get at the start, is also gone. Which means at challenging survival difficulty, your hazard starts going down FAST. Still, removing the early tedium of repairing everything is a really really nice QoL change.

So after hundreds of hours of playing, I finally decided to go through the Galactic Core for the fir...

And promptly felt like a newb as I remembered after I went through that you should switch ships and your multi-tool to one of your basic ones. Ouch, fully kitted out Interceptor and multi-tool both full of broken slots! And the best part was that I had thrown out the repair kits that I had stockpiled because I never used them anyway…..

Hilbert seems pretty cool so far though!

Spoiler tagged so I don’t ruin the surprise for anyone who hasn’t done this!

OG player hooked... Again!

I remembered being extremely excited when No Man’s Sky was set to release. I preordered the game and was hooked from the get go. I played the heck out of the base version, did pretty much everything you could back then and just sorta moved on to other games as you do.

Fast forward a few years and I recently decided to dive back in again, this time on the PS5 and I’m just blown away by the amount of content this game has received since launch. Back then there wasn’t all that much to do really looking back. I’ve been trying my hand at various activities, freighters, settlements and stuff.

I remembered it being a LOT easier to get credits from mining though lol. I recently had a streak of good luck though. I spent a few hours mining and managed to get about 8 million credits. Came across a system with an S Class Multi-tool Rifle and then I only had 3 million credits left 🤣.

I pulled in to the anomaly last night, left to go cook dinner, came back and saw that someone had given me stuff. After doing some research online I found out that the 5 “Stasis Device” they had given me were worth a fortune! Thanks random person! Yes I was still flying my Radiant Pillar since I hadnt changed ships yet.

A few hours later, I’m system hopping to look for a new ship and I’ll be blown away if an Exotic doesn’t land right in front of me. Wasn’t cheap but now I’ve got an S Class Multi-tool and Ship. Now the grind begins to upgrade everything. I’m going to be playing for a long while I think. See you out in the stars!

P.S How good does Light No Fire look? I’ll be jumping on that when it drops 😀

New Year, New System, Return of Old Save.

New Year, New System, Return of Old Save.

Finally able to get a PS5, so stepping up from the PS4. Transfered all my saves, including my launch character which I haven’t been able to play since 2016 as the save was corrupted during an update. It was playable on the PS5, bonus. Of course the base was deleted, being an original found base. Almost all tech on the ship, exosuit, and multi-tools was obsolete and unusable, as seen in second image. All discoveries are empty except system names, no fauna, flora, minerals, planets, though the current system remembered one planet that is pictured. No systems in the teleporter to visit. So, it was nice to see the character again, but basically a brand new character with no access to anything other than the current system and items on hand. Though the storage containers would have additional items in them when I built a new base.
