Made a Knowledge Stone light..

Press the Vortex Cube to activate/deactivate. LCD stays on for 10 seconds (but I can change that). Build on a small wooden box so I can put a battery bank in with the controller chip and make it portable, or run the usb cable out the side to a wall adapter. It’s also hooked in my home automation (Home Assistant) so i can change any of the light colours or send custom messages. Hoping to have it announce patches and things like that with a unique Knowledge Stone colour associated with it, maybe the water/lava colour too. Overall pretty happy with it. I’ll probably mess around with the decorations and such. It’s been something I’ve wanted to do for a while, glad it’s done. 😁 submitted by /u/Canno_NS |

How powerful can the squadrons get?

I want to survey a whole region, what would the best method of charting be?
As we are all aware, just a single galaxy in NMS is large to the point that it’s difficult for the brain to fathom. We can read the number of systems on paper, but it’s a number to us that might as well be infinite.
To give me something to do, and to itch an old Sci-fi fantasy of mine, I’d like to boldly go where no man has gone before, but at a scale I believe I can handle which is discovering a whole region. That’s hundreds of systems.
Given we’re looking at a 3D map, there’s systems in all directions, what would the best methods of systematically exploring a region be?
