With Light No Fire on the horizon, a repeatedly huge game that will probably get a lot of content updates like NMS has, what do you think will come next for NMS?
Of course, my worry is that they will phase out continued support. But, they have added so much at this point that maybe ceasing continued development will be forgiven. We don’t know when the next game is coming out. Maybe we will see a huge final content update with a gameplay overhaul. Something like fully customizable and buildable ships and freighters, a more in-depth reputation system with the ability to engage in combat with NPC’s, on-foot pirate combat, and world’s with multiple biomes.
Then again, maybe the engine just can’t do these things, so perhaps they will eventually come out with a proper sequel?
I don’t know. But what would you folks like to see from NMS or what do you think Hello Games will add moving forward?

I tried getting this game on PC back in 2018-19. I found myself frustrated and not enjoying it at all, things like the inventory and feel of the game just didn’t feel right to me. All in all I logged maybe 1 hour 30 minutes?
Fast forward to just about a week ago, I have all these gamepass games and the new MW2 game and all I can think about is playing No Mans Sky. I played 8 hours straight. I haven’t done that to any game since 2011 just out of highschool. Hell I haven’t stayed up past 2am to game since 2009. Yet last night I found myself begrudgingly forcing myself to get off at 4am.
Its been so long since I’ve felt the wonder of gaming, the feel of whats just beyond the next hill.
This game might not be perfect but I think it does what a lot of games forget to do these days and just create fun. Nothing is to serious, yet the game can be as serious as I want it to.
I’d consider myself fresh as can be to, I’ve only made 1.5m credits and just made my first 6000 nanites, I’m still rocking the newbie ship with no extra goodies attached and I simply can’t find the time to settle down because the call to the next system drives me to see whats beyond.
Whenever No Mans Sky 2 comes along, I really think Hello Games will be in a better situation as a team both in organization and finances and I think then we will see all that No Mans Sky could ever be.
Also you guys as a community are great, so many people inviting me to party up, a few of you have stopped at my rinky dink little hut and waved or pointed at me. You guys have been a blast at making this big Univerae feel not so empty.

Well, I finally went and did it. I’m among the 0.7% of NMS players on Steam who journeyed to the center of Euclid in Permadeath mode.
Since I did all of last year’s Expeditions when they came out, I decided to make my own expedition-like experience – earning the “To Live Forever” achievement. The first hour or so was worrying. There were some close calls here and there. But my main impression of the Permadeath mode was annoyance:
My chosen method was to go up the main story/quest line. It’s been a long time and the changes Hello Games made to it since the days of yore were interesting to see. I also took the opportunity to make some different choices this time around. It turns out that everybody is remarkably chill with letting Artemis die.
In the end, I reset the simulation and I found myself on an extreme radioactive planet in another galaxy with a bunch of broken gear. I struggled for a moment, but since I was planning on deleting my Permadeath save anyway, I calmly waited and let it self-wipe.
Going back to my legacy save and seeing the vast expanses of inventory space was like booting up a whole different game.

I love the idea of the staff. The walking and running animations are great. But the fact that it shoots like you’re holding a gun totally breaks the space wizard vibe for me! 🙁
Plz Hello Games, fix that!

With Starfield coming in 2 weeks, a big procedural generation/exploration update would make perfect sense for Hello Games to keep people interested. Really crossing my fingers 🤞 submitted by /u/Sea_Ad_9990 [link] [comments]

When you wear a cape, you can still use your jetpack. Would be cool to not need one at all. Some of them are super bulky and throw off my aesthetic. submitted by /u/Grisshroom [link] [comments]

I always build my bases next to a minor settlement. It’s got a landing pad for other trade ships (or for me to use to save on launch fuel in early game)… and an easily accessible trading hub inside.
Any fun little tips you have for bases?

Probably a dumb question, however I just wanna know how this works before I commit to doing this.
If you find a MT(multi-tool) at a sentinel pillar could you build and upload a base to servers near that pillar for people to grab the MT, or would it be a thing of once someone grabs that multi-tool its just gone and can not be gotten by anyone else? Just wanna know if it’s better to do the base thing or just share the glyph codes for the planet in which I have found a B-Class royal MT.

So I’m trying to put down the storage boxes. However, no matter what I try, they always end up being slightly misaligned when I use the snapping function. I already excavated the ground away underneath and placed a floor for them to sit on. What am I doing wrong? submitted by /u/Herefornow211 |

Somebody’s turned a trade outpost into a base and stuck this huge skull on it. I want one! What is this, a mod or something? Anybody seen one of these before? submitted by /u/Showmebobs |
