Hi fellow travelers. I’m building this guide with images and all and I’ll share with the community soon. Please let me know if there’s anything to add, like some quick tips/reminders. ………………………………………….. Starting the expedition from an existing save or from scratch– If you want a new character, a new save, start the expedition from scratch on the main menu. You’ll keep your character, the ships you found, freighter, all multi-tools and items after you end the expedition – the game will convert your expedition save to a normal save. – If you want you can use an existing character, start the expedition from the Space Anomaly on the Expedition Terminus, then transfer items and copy multi-tools/ships between your main character and the expedition character at any time using the terminus. Recommended items to transfer– Before starting the expedition, it’s recommended to transfer some items in the terminus, to save some time and give you more comfort during the journey, like: • Liquid Explosive (or Acid + Unstable Gel, or 25 Mordite + 200 Cactus Flesh + 200 Fungal Mold) – The current equipped multi-tool and ship of your main character can be copied to your expedition character and it’ll cost you nanites to do so. – Your main character looks will be copied/transferred to your expedition character once you start the expedition. – After you end the expedition, everything that remains in your inventories will be converted to units and your nanites and quicksilver will also be transferred to your main character. – Don’t forget to copy the Starborn Runner ship (including the Photonix Core tech pre-installed in the ship) and the Atlas multi-tool from the expedition to your main character. ………………………………………….. Reward: Starborn Runner ship with Photonix Core pulse driveAfter you complete every phase of the expedition, you can claim your Starborn Runner ship. This ship will have a Photonix Core tech installed. Using the expedition terminus in the Anomaly, you can copy this ship (with the techs installed, but not the cargo items) to your main save. You’ll then have a Starborn Runner on your expedition save and on your main save. Before ending the expedition, you can pack the Photonix Core of your ship and send this tech to your main save using the terminus in the Anomaly. ………………………………………….. Here’s some of the FAQ suggestions we received in our previous FAQ thread. Keep in mind that these are opinions from some of our valued OP’s and you may agree or disagree with some of these. You can also drop a quick tip!
Tip #1: Always try to be doing multiple things. Pick up the portable refiner so you can refine something from your inventory while exploring and mining.
Tip #2: Avoid multiplayer until unlocking the anomaly, can be stranded if not.
Tip #3: Exotic worlds only have 1 fauna so it’s easy to scan all of them.
Tip #4: Need glyphs? All 16 are on one planet here
Q- “I was on the Anomaly and a bunch of expensive stuff showed up in my inventory. What do I do with it? A:” Congrats! Another player has bestowed you with a gift. Most likely it is an item to sell for some quick and easy cash. Usually the item description will tell you what it is used for.
Q: “Help, I claimed a broken ship and now I can’t find my starter ship! Is it gone forever?” A:” If you merely selected to “claim” the broken ship and not “swap” it, then your old ship is still around. If you left it with launch fuel in the tank, you can summon it with the quick-menu. If it does not have fuel, it can be summoned on the Anomaly (once you unlock it), your freighter (once you acquire one).
Q- “Are crashed ships worth repairing?” A-” Unless it is an exotic, no. Scrap the ship at the space station, sell the items it gives you, and use those units to buy a better, working version of a ship in that system.
Q- “Any advice for new players?” A-“For new players, make sure you read the guide in-game. It’s an excellent beginner’s guide for traveling, learning about the alien races, building, and etc. Take a look over the catalogue of items too. Also, I’d strongly suggest mining a massive amount of carbon, oxygen, and sodium. These three items will be some of your most used and critical items in the game

I’m on PS4 so unfortunately can’t communicate easily. I’d like to respect not tele-dumping unasked for items into people’s inventories, well-intentioned or not. Setting my title to “- the Generous” feels like such a failed flex instead of an invitation. Just earlier I made the mistake of waving / gesturing with “over here!” only to be bombarded with generosity from other players which was so wholesome but literally the opposite of what I wanted haha. Should I shelf my Santa-complex for now and trust that if other players wanted something they’d ask for it?
