Grinding Salvaged Frigate Modules

Hi fellow explorers.

I just started playing around 2 weeks ago and I am just wondering: Is it supposed to be this much of a grind to upgrade your construction options on your freighter?

The salvaged data is the perfect balance of time investment/reward to me, but holy hell I am spending so much time just to unlock 1-2 things max.

Is it just kinda the way it is? Or am I missing a more efficient way as a newcomer?

I’ve been:

Checking freighters for cargo pods containing them

Buying derelict freighter cords from merchants (expensive, can only do this occasionally) but it’s a lot of searching for just 1 module. Should I be finding more than 1?

Sending out fleets and occasionally getting them as loot.

I have yet to find a crashed freighter

Any tips on my quest to build an amazing freighter base?
