One player can really ruin the experience

So in the Anomaly if a player invites me to their group I usually join. Mainly to give them a chance to join me in my bases in whatever galaxy I happen to be in (in this instance my treehouse base in Odlayutai, as a lot of players like to get there).

Sure enough ten minutes later “georgeACE123” a PS player enters the system, and heads towards my planet. Rather than say hello, the pr**k starts shooting, then leaves a comm ball in space where it can’t be reported. Both easily fixed as I have PvP off and blocking him through PlayStation removes the unsightly comm ball.

But honestly, why?

What the hell do people get out of being like this?

Guess I’ll be ignoring all invites from now on.

Even though I can’t, and won’t see him, it’s annoying me he’s probably building a base in my system right now 😂

Plus I’ve always liked helping others out, taxying them to various galaxies or providing resources they need…… Now I’m running out of trust for random players 😔

Faecium mine in Calypso: don't just take random crap from anyone (Calypso)

Faecium mine in Calypso: don't just take random crap from anyone (Calypso)

Get your sh*t together

Announcing the Anomalous Acres Faecium Mine

Need faecium? Of course you do! But why gather it in the field like some animal, or waste time building a farm? You don’t have time for that sh*t because you’ve got sh*t to do.

We are in some serious sh*t

Our faecium mine is full of sh*t and our sump pumps work 24×7 to make sure it stays that way. Over $1.9 million units worth, every 48 hours, this sh*t will make you rich.

Note that there aren’t separate networks here: it’s just one big pile of sh*t.

Can you believe this sh*t?

Located on a storm-free marsh planet in Calypso. Normal mode.

WARNING: This planet has aggressive sentinels in normal mode (they take their sh*t seriously), so come in, collect your sh*t, and get out.

The mine is high enough that this isn’t a problem as long as you don’t linger, but for people who just don’t want to take that sh*t there’s a save beacon and a comm ball at a nearby sentinel pillar (which is, itself, next to a trading post, so you can unload your sh*t as needed).

We will give you sh*t

Really like this game

To set the stage – I was one of those people that brought No Man’s Sky day-1, and absolutely hated it.

I was heavily into Destiny at the time (D1, year-1 vet), so NMS didn’t really gel with me, it was buggy, there was very little information on what to do, and seemed practically no point in the game apart from wandering around aimlessly (from what I could tell with my limited initial assessment).

So, a couple weeks ago I gave it another try. Whilst I don’t know if I’m viewing the game with a different mindset, or whether Hello Games have added so much and tweaked so much that this current iteration is unrecognisable from the initial release, but what I do know is that I’m having a heck of a blast with it.

I like resource gathering and base building, and whilst games like Fallout 4 and Starfield are OK, NMS appears to be leagues better and the systems far deeper. So much seems to be thought out before hand, which is a nice change when you are used to Bethesda games.

I’ve also found that this is a game that it is easy to get lost in. I’m 75+ hours into this playthrough, and I’m only about to start the last Artemis mission, as I keep getting distracted with other interesting things to do. As a “new” player it is amazing how much there is to do. Having just got my first freighter I’m tempted to get into frigate missions as the concept of building up your fleet looks really interesting, but that will probably have to wait as there is so much I want to do first, including finding a better freighter, grinding out the frigate mods needed to fully equip it, and not least actually hiring some frigates.

So much to do, so little time.

Happy days.
