Discovered a way to speed up crafting significantly

Discovered a way to speed up crafting significantly

Don't know why I never saw this before. Likely because I didn't pay attention to patch notes since 2016.

But apparently they added the option to craft more than one item qty at a time. Had no idea this was a thing until I pressed the L1 bumper out of frustration only to see the UI do exactly what I wished it would.

PSA to everyone else! You can craft stacks of stuff now using the R1/L1 triggers.

Now if I can only figure out how to get my Phototonix Core module to my Switch save.

A PSA for anyone who has heard about the money glitch. Don't use it.

As a Day 1 player, this is mostly for the newer players. Yes, you can use a glitch to give infinite money/nanites. But please don’t. It will ruin the experience for you. NMS is about exploring the galaxy, and building from the ground up. Quite literally in some players cases.

Having instant access to everything defeats the purpose of playing it, as there’s suddenly nothing left to strive for. I’ve seen a few friends take this route, and the game got old for them real fast. A few started new games and are still here thankfully, but the rest just simply got bored.

This isn’t a post telling you how to play the game. It’s just an old Traveller sharing his opinion. Take it as you will, fellow Travellers, and I’ll see you in the stars.

Edit: It appears this has now been patched.

PSA regarding autophage ship scrapping missions

Tagged spoiler just in case, not sure how spoiler-y this is though.

I’ve seen some people on here upset that they can’t complete missions that require scrapping a ship for the autophage because their ship roster is full, and they (understandably) don’t want to sacrifice any of their ships.

This won’t help Switch players, or players that don’t have access to multiplayer (e.g., playing on PS but not subbed to Plus), but everyone else, this might help.

The key is that you don’t have to actually scrap a ship. You just need to have the required value’s worth of ship scrap items, such as starship AI valves or compressed indium scraps and the like, in your inventory.

You can even do multiple missions with the amount of stuff you get from one scrapped ship.

So if your roster is full and you have a friend willing to help, have them scrap a ship and give you the junk. Or hang around in the anomaly until someone starts handing out AI valves or something. Then just go turn in at the autophage who gave you the mission.

To be clear, I don’t know if this is INTENDED behavior, so there might be a future patch that reworks how the missions operate. But until then, this is an option.

Can I create a custom squadron from ships I would be scrapping otherwise?

So here’s what I was thinking. You can hire an NPC to your squadron from any space station for example, right? Now what happens if BEFORE hiring them I buy their ship by swapping it with one of my ships that I would be scrapping otherwise? Will I get THAT ship to join my squadron?

Obviously it depends on the pilot too how well they will do in a fight, but this way I could have a squadron made up of Living Ships or fully equipped Sentinel Interceptors, right? Or, in theory I can claim the Starborn Runner as many times as I want if I’ve finished the expedition, can I just keep selling a Starborn Runner by swapping with them AND hire said pilot equipped with the Starborn Runner now? Can I have a full squadron of them?

I’ll test this out soon with a sentinel that I’d scrap otherwise and get back to you, but if this works I think it is huge, so much potential to create an amazing fight squadron this way!
