I always wondered the significance of that name since I was flung into it after the Atlas thing. Seemed like a weird thing to name a galaxy. I started reading “Allure of the Multiverse” by Paul Halpern when I came across a reference to Hilbert space coined by mathematician John von Neumann and described as an abstract realm of unlimited dimensions. Spooky.
Having played Starfield, I’m glad NMS chose multiple galaxies vs the multi universe approach. Having seen proof of multiple galaxies with my own eyes, It’s much easier to get my head around. i didn’t say it’s better or worse, just more approachable for my primitive cerebral cortex to grasp.
