Destroying a Sentinel capital ship should suppress them for a period of time

I was indulging in a little bit of light piracy yesterday, and after destroying several waves of Sentinels and their capital ship, the very next merchant freighter I attacked started the whole response routine all over again. After killing two of their capital ships and realising they still weren't getting the message, I just went back to ignoring them entirely, which is pretty easy to do with just the one ship which tries to stop you at alert level 1.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but it seems like destroying a Sentinel capital ship ought to disable them in that system for a period of time, the same as destroying the pillar on a planet does?

random gift of half a billion units

I’ve been playing for a few hundred hours now and can actually claim to have a solid grip on most of the game. I was selling off activated indium from the farm I’ve set up (about 12m units worth/day which I think is pretty respectable) when I saw a trade item I didn’t recognize in my exosuit inventory. I had a full stack, 50/50. Something called Starship AI Valves. I look at the value for the sale. That moment was one of those moments where you wonder for a split second whether the problem is your eyes or reality itself. 650 million units. So I look them up and see they are the most valuable item in the game, only obtained from scrapping a ship worth more than 50 million. There’s a different thread where someone discovers one in their inventory and is informed that someone must have just given it to them in the Anomaly, and this must be their lucky day.

Here’s my question: did someone seriously just give me the product of fifty scrapped high value starships, completely out of the blue, just to be a nice person? Has anything of this magnitude happened to anyone else?

I've only hopped galaxies once. Does one to recollect glyphs?

A few years ago I finished a few of the storylines (I’m pretty sure that Atlas and I came to an agreement) and I ended up with all 16 glyphs then. I travelled to the 2nd galaxy, found my ship, then logged off. Haven’t been back to that save since. If I logged in would I have to get 16 new glyphs? Like, I think the symbols are all the same but would I have to collect them again?
