Not sure if this has been discussed before, but… You can build a bunch of these at your base(s) and get unlimited free stuff.

Once placed, they take one hour in real time to fabricate a random container item. Once the item is fabricated, the container's glow lines turn from red to green, and any player will be able to claim the item and restart the (one hour) fabrication process.

Once the item is fabricated, the canister's glow lines turn from red to green, and any player with an AtlasPass v1 will be able to claim the item and restart the (one hour) fabrication process.
Just unlock the base-building parts in exchange for Salvaged Data the from the Construction Research Station in the Space Anomaly. Then place a bunch of them in your base(s), and score a bunch of free stuff every hour.
