One of the best games ever made?

Hey guys, just made it off the first planet last night. This game is truly mind boggling. The scale alone flipped me out. I could imagine large player factions getting together and trying to build cities, setting up trade routes with other player factions or with the NPCs. This game is gonna be a new addiction. I'm playing single player currently, but once I switch to a better provider I'm gonna join civilization. HG deserves the Nobel Peace prize or something…. But you guys know this already…

I know you need to have 3 in game hours and jump 5x to trigger a space battle. (I have 76hrs) Why won’t one spawn? What are the pre requisites? (E.g. active missions/inactive missions/bugs) I can’t get one to spawn at all. I don’t know what I’m doing…
