Here’s some of the FAQ suggestions we received in our previous FAQ thread. Keep in mind that these are opinions from some of our valued OP’s and you may agree or disagree with some of these. We just ask that everyone remains respectful when replying to this thread and we look forward to your contribution! NMSTG Mod Team
You can also drop a quick tip!
Tip #1: Always try to be doing multiple things. Pick up the portable refiner so you can refine something from your inventory while exploring and mining.
Tip #2: Avoid multiplayer until unlocking the anomaly, can be stranded if not.
Tip #3: Exotic worlds only have 1 fauna so it’s easy to scan all of them.
Tip #4: Need glyphs? All 16 are on one planet here
Q- “I was on the Anomaly and a bunch of expensive stuff showed up in my inventory. What do I do with it? A:” Congrats! Another player has bestowed you with a gift. Most likely it is an item to sell for some quick and easy cash. Usually the item description will tell you what it is used for.
Q: “Help, I claimed a broken ship and now I can’t find my starter ship! Is it gone forever?” A:” If you merely selected to “claim” the broken ship and not “swap” it, then your old ship is still around. If you left it with launch fuel in the tank, you can summon it with the quick-menu. If it does not have fuel, it can be summoned on the Anomaly (once you unlock it), your freighter (once you acquire one).
Q- “Are crashed ships worth repairing?” A-” Unless it is an exotic, no. Scrap the ship at the space station, sell the items it gives you, and use those units to buy a better, working version of a ship in that system.
Q- “Any advice for new players?” A-“For new players, make sure you read the guide in-game. It’s an excellent beginner’s guide for traveling, learning about the alien races, building, and etc. Take a look over the catalogue of items too. Also, I’d strongly suggest mining a massive amount of carbon, oxygen, and sodium. These three items will be some of your most used and critical items in the game

So for 30 minutes yesterday I flew around a paradise planet I found looking for a “Habitable Base Location.” I was scanning, using exocraft, signal boosters, etc. Couldn’t find one I was kinda getting discouraged.
Then I tried something. I just plopped down a “base computer” and claimed a spot.
That’s it. No longer do you need to find a suitable base location. You can build almost anywhere.
I know for some this is sensical. But for folks like me who came back to the game after years away and are looking to build a new base, we’re stuck in our old ways.
TL;DR: You can build a base anywhere. Build a base computer the claim the base. You don’t need a “habitable base location” like you used to.

After I archive everything on the planet, would anyone be interested in the glyphs to build a base here? Gigantic cliffs with sheer dropoffs, perfect weather and infrequent sentinels, glowing grass and glowing mushroom flora, with great views. &…

I’m still pretty new to the game, just got my first freighter and settlement. I love exploring.
But the specific roleplay experience I’m looking for is to: Go somewhere, maybe random
Land my ship on a planet and generally not rely on it for inner atmosphere travel or saving my ass
Find someone who needs help or that something needs to be improved, which I’d be able to do without leaving the planet and not just pulling the fix from my inventory
Then I make my way back to my ship having “saved the day” and off to find someone else in need
Are there missions which fit this experience, either that the mission sends me there or that it’s something to do when I find a settlement which I’m not the leader of? If there’s these types of on-planet missions settlements give, I could warp into a system, search the closest settlement, land there, and do whatever local dangerous things they need.

Last one is technically a glitch where my ship is still in its landing mode. Didn’t even notice till after I took the picture. submitted by /u/Own-Somewhere-4205 [link] [comments]

Hi! Just like the title says, I am looking for a sandworm to tame. I am aware that having a pet sandworm was made possible through a quest, and I’m wondering if anyone has a spare sandworm egg they’d be willing to part with (if that is a thing since I have no idea if your pet sandworm can have gestation induced). I’d be happy to compensate you for it – I can offer valuable in-game items in exchange.
Thank you!

I’m in the Patterns of Time quest, where I need to complete contracts for the gek. I had completed 2 contracts, as it said, but it didn’t work. So I did 2 other ones, and it still doesn’t work. Anyone got a clue of what’s going on? submitted by /u/FruityHoodie |

I know you need to have 3 in game hours and jump 5x to trigger a space battle. (I have 76hrs) Why won’t one spawn? What are the pre requisites? (E.g. active missions/inactive missions/bugs) I can’t get one to spawn at all. I don’t know what I’m doing…
