I found a really simple way to improve gameplay quality

And I'm kind of annoyed [with myself] that I waited this long to figure it out. I have around 310ish hours in no man's sky, and if you're anything like me, you have "future base locations" that'll never get used. I just spent the last couple of hours deleting these aforementioned bases. And oh my God the difference is phenomenal. Frame rates improved; it doesn't crash near as much; things are loading a lot quicker, Etc. Getting rid of 50+ base computers meant I'm not using all that memory anymore. Now the game can focus on running right.

So if you're anything like me, get rid of the bases you're never going to use, it helps
