I bought this game when it first came out for PS4, without knowing much about it. The concept seemed cool, but I was wrapped up in a few other games at the time. By the time I had time to give it a shot,the internet was teeming with negative reviews and reactions. I decided to pass.

Fast forward 6.5 years, my VR2 shows up on my doorstep. Looking through the limited selection of games available, I see NMS (still sitting on my shelf, gathering dust). Cool– I already own a game that has a free upgrade and VR2 compatibility! I pop it in and… wow! This game is vastly outperforming any expectation I developed over the years.

Now, I am very slightly aware that in the years since its launch, the devs continued to work on making this game what they intended it to be. But I had a lot going on in my life too, and with new games coming out weekly the NMS ship had kind of sailed for me. I don't think I ever would've given this game a shot if it weren't for the VR2, but I'm oh so glad I did.

Anyway, still very new to the game (~5 hours), so tons left to learn and explore. Just wanted to say hi to everyone and sorry I'm late.
