NMS HOT POST 2023/04/19

It’s The Little Things That Really Endear Me To NMS (how I got my first exotic)

I know this isn’t a big thing but it struck me as really cool.

I was doing some sentinel ship hunting the other night and I’d flown a C class find back to a space station to salvage. I’d finished selling off the parts and hopped back in my ship to head back down to the corrupted planet to continue the search. As I’m flying out of the launch tube into space I see a yellow exotic flying past me into the station! I had an OMG moment, pulled a U and flew back in hoping it would be landed inside. Sure enough there it was. Plunked down the units then and there.

I’ve only been playing about two weeks and I guess I’m used to playing games where things vanish when they go into another zone/playfield. The permanence of the ship being an actual entity landed inside the station after flying in from space amazed me. Makes the game feel so alive.

I am absolutely blown away by how good this runs on Switch

I’ve got about 2000 hours between Xbox and PC. I bought the Switch version on launch and it was so-so. I mean I didn’t really expect MUCH in the way of performance.

Must have been one of the recent updates, but holy HELL how did the developers do this!? Between game engine optimization and the raw talent of the HG team, I am beside myself.

I don’t want to reach too deep into my pocket full of dreams but I hope Light No Fire comes to Switch as well. I was literally about to sell my OLED last week until I fired up NMS again.
