Following the advice and having watched Beeblebum’s video on building low orbit bases, I have managed to successfully start a build of such a base. The limited time I had today, was mostly spent on building the tower from walls (using the wall / stairs method). The steps from the guide worked like a charm, and I managed to get a tiny base orbiting a dead planet (wanted a planet with no atmosphere). Now I need to figure out what I want to build and plan it. I’m thinking about trying to play without a ship, basically doing a solo roleplay where I lost my ship for some reason. (Im probably gonna delete it on a save editor or just pretend I don’t have a ship anymore) I know the idea sounds tedious at first, and it probably will be, so I’d love ideas on how to make this experience interesting, for exameple: On which kind of system and planet should i try it? In which game mode? Any suggestions are helpful Obviously it will have to be on a planet where it is possible to find a crashed ship and repair it, also im gonna try on a planet where i can build a base + a vehicle. With how mindlessly people bandwagon things, lord knows that spot would probably be completely inaccessible with comballs if someone hadn’t put down a base. I normally think they’re neat, but there were so many comballs at this location that I could barely even target the corrupted sentinels there. This is really shitty behavior on the part of the community, considering how much of an annoyance these can be to other players in a spot like this.
Like, if you really want to have a big funny field of messages, park it off to the side where people can CHOOSE to go get ambushed with a bunch of random comments. Have some decency.
