I just ordered a used copy of NMS so I can finally have a game to play with friends and family.

I was excited for NMS since it was announced and then because of the bad launch, I didn’t pay any attention to it afterwards. My friend has been bugging me for years to get the game and then eventually I moved somewhere where I couldn’t play games online for a few years, so once again I didn’t pay any attention to it.

With internet once again, I’ve been wanting a game I could get my friend and brother to play, I tried to get them to play Overwatch or ARK but neither of them cared enough to get involved. My friend kept bringing up NMS, so I started bringing it up to my brother because I knew he would love it, we both love space, both loved Minecraft, both loved the idea of ARK, exploring, etc.

After weeks of bothering my brother he bought it at full price and loves it, now he started bothering me about getting it, and after seeing the synth update and watching trailers…I had to buy it.

I cannot wait to have a game to spend time playing with my favorite people, exploring and building and whatever else. Looking at a few posts in this sub and I’m in awe of what’s possible. This might become my favorite game ever (speaking too soon, I know) and I have to give a kudos to Hello Games, the work that has been done with a small team is outlandish in today’s market, I wanna give them all a kiss, chlamydia for everyone!

But seriously, I’m waiting for my package like a little kid waiting for Christmas, I can’t begin to explain how happy I am to finally have a game that gets my friends and family involved.

I’m sorry, but I had to selfishly express myself, I would love to read your stories of your NMS experiences!

Bought NMS when it came out. I was pretty much oblivious to the hype and to the masses of negative reviews.

Instead I was happily travelling the galaxy by myself.

Five years later and I’m still playing this game. Still loving the experience and pottering around in my part of the galaxy.

No other game I’ve played in my 40 years of gaming has done this. And no other game has continually been upgraded, updated and made even more enjoyable, (For Free!) by a team that truly loves what they do.

Nothing beat the excitement of accidentally bumping into another Traveller. Or building a base on your perfect planet. Or exploring the galaxy alone.

Reading the community posts and threads shows also what a wonderful and non toxic group of players we have too.

Long may it continue.

We all know you are all very excited for the Mass Effect Crossover currently going on, we hardly believed it ourselves at first, and while we love to see everyone sharing their hype and ideas, things are getting a little out of hand, and users have been expressing concern.

In order to keep things more manageable, we would like to ask everyone to keep their screenshots of the beautiful rendition of the SSV Normandy SR1, and ideas for future crossover events in this mega thread, this will help make things both more manageable for us and prevent the frustration some people have been facing with these types of posts flooding the subreddit lately.

On that note have at em! Have you gotten the Normandy yet? I’d love to see it along with the rest of your fleet, and what other sci-fi icons would you like to see immortalized in No Mans Sky.
