I’ve played 1500+ hours of regular saves over the years and my PC install is very stable. I decided to try permadeath on the default settings and was 40 hours into it.

I wanted to get a drink downstairs so I climbed back into my ship and hit the ESC key to pause the game. Came back 5 minutes later and the permadeath save was gone.

Assuming it wasn’t my computer, what could have happened in the game to cause this?

Alrighty, y’all answered my question and I was wrong in thinking hitting ESC would pause the game. So it’s likely I got mowed down by pirates.

My brother gave me this for my bday, knowing that I have a VR headset.

I have been looking at its developments since release, but didn’t yet jump on board.

I am still getting through the tutorial, but aside from the joystick in the ship, it works really really really well in VR.

Can’t wait to see the rest of what it has to offer. Still on the base building part of the tutorial.

This game looks huge, so I’m glad there’s a nice subreddit here.

Scrapping multiple ships gets tedious. If we could switch between our ships while in a space station, it’d make the whole process so much easier.
