Strange frigate glitch

I have this living frigate, that ever since I have acquired it – it shows that it is merged INTO my freighter. Well, halfway into it.

I can still send it out on missions I can still feed it and upgrade the different categories of the types of missions that it supports, etc. But, every time I fly to my frigate in my starship I see it from outside, and it is always STUCK to my freighter and shows that it is merged halfway into it. It does not fly separated like all of the others.

Is there a fix for this?

Also when I am trying to acquire my last living frigate, I can never attain whale song. And now, I am wondering if this frigate being merged halfway into my ship is somehow affecting this.
