OG player hooked… Again!

I remembered being extremely excited when No Man's Sky was set to release. I preordered the game and was hooked from the get go. I played the heck out of the base version, did pretty much everything you could back then and just sorta moved on to other games as you do.

Fast forward a few years and I recently decided to dive back in again, this time on the PS5 and I'm just blown away by the amount of content this game has received since launch. Back then there wasn't all that much to do really looking back. I've been trying my hand at various activities, freighters, settlements and stuff.

I remembered it being a LOT easier to get credits from mining though lol. I recently had a streak of good luck though. I spent a few hours mining and managed to get about 8 million credits. Came across a system with an S Class Multi-tool Rifle and then I only had 3 million credits left 🤣.

I pulled in to the anomaly last night, left to go cook dinner, came back and saw that someone had given me stuff. After doing some research online I found out that the 5 "Stasis Device" they had given me were worth a fortune! Thanks random person! Yes I was still flying my Radiant Pillar since I hadnt changed ships yet.

A few hours later, I'm system hopping to look for a new ship and I'll be blown away if an Exotic doesn't land right in front of me. Wasn't cheap but now I've got an S Class Multi-tool and Ship. Now the grind begins to upgrade everything. I'm going to be playing for a long while I think. See you out in the stars!

P.S How good does Light No Fire look? I'll be jumping on that when it drops 😀

An outpost for sulfur gas extraction on the blazing moon, where temperatures rise to 300 degrees celsius during storms; Behind it , is a fallen expedition frigate, whose role now is to be the landscape of this dangerous planet, with only glittering crystals and wind around to remind him of the bright stars through which he roamed the endless space of no man’s sky.

Having no windows throughout a freighter can be depressing. Why not add viewing screens??

Hey interlopers! Day 1 player here. I feel like base building across the board needs A LOT more added to it for non-glitch building players to be able to make truly unique and interesting structures. But one of the biggest missing pieces to me is not having any way to add spectacular views into space on your frieghter.

As far as rendering the frienter base goes, I get why you can’t just plop a window anywhere. But it’s hard not to want to when your only view is off the freighter’s bridge through the dirtiest windows in the galaxy and is half taken up by the freighter’s tractor beam.

Now, having watched a lot of Star Trek lately, having a viewing screen to pull up feeds off of different angles of the ship would really up immersion and drop the claustrophobia of frieghter bases. For simplicity, every viewing screen could be cycled through 5 default perspectives; foreward, stern, port, starboard, and below.

I just think this is could be an easy workaround for not being able to place windows on frieghters. What do you all think?

I am absolutely blown away by how good this runs on Switch

I’ve got about 2000 hours between Xbox and PC. I bought the Switch version on launch and it was so-so. I mean I didn’t really expect MUCH in the way of performance.

Must have been one of the recent updates, but holy HELL how did the developers do this!? Between game engine optimization and the raw talent of the HG team, I am beside myself.

I don’t want to reach too deep into my pocket full of dreams but I hope Light No Fire comes to Switch as well. I was literally about to sell my OLED last week until I fired up NMS again.
