Day 1 – Unknown distance from the center of the galaxy

Woke up on a frozen planet. Don’t exactly remember how I crashed. I remember jumping into the system. Everything after that is gone.

Not everything.

The compulsion is still there. Or is it an obsession? That’s what the others called it.

I don’t even remember who “the others” are anymore. All I know now is The Need. The Need to get to the center of the galaxy. The Need to know what’s there.

Ship’s damaged. No thrusters, minimal life support, no hyperdrive. Gotta repair it all. Luckily this iceball is rich in resources. Shouldn’t take long to get space-born again.

Stars know, the addiction won’t let me stay any longer than necessary.

Better get to it.

(A recent post asked about using a ship’s hyperdrive to reach the center of the galaxy. It gave me the idea to turn that into a new game challenge. Reach the center of the galaxy by ship. No portals, no teleports, no freighters. Just me and my ship – and maybe a black hole or two. It seemed like a crazy idea, so I decided to turn it into a crazy narrative.

I don’t know if anyone will find this entertaining – me included. I don’t know if I’ll get bored and abandon it mid-journey. We’ll see how far I take it – or it takes me.)
