You can start Ex12 in the Anomaly even on Permadeath.

You can start Ex12 in the Anomaly even on Permadeath.

It seems that a lot of folks — especially old NMS players, and Perma Players don’t do the Expeditions because they don’t add much to their main save.

But I just wanted to let everyone know that starting Ex12 on your Perma save is totally worth it. Especially because dying on the expedition DOES NOT delete your save. Can confirm. I’ve tested it. It’s like going on a little vacation. Also, since this expedition is so lucrative, and fun, I highly recommend all PD players give it a whirl in the next few days before it expires. Nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Especially if … like me, you’ve recently lost PD character, it’s a great (and fast) way to get yourself back into a more comfortable spot. Maybe this violates the spirit of PD… but meh… it’s a feature in the game, I’m playing it as intended, and it’s time gated anyway.

Also: There’s an S-Class Exotic MT at a sentinel pillar on one of the planets during Ex12, and the paint-job and shape is giving my character Samus Vibes.

I got a walker brain!

Weeks ago I learned the blueprint for a conflict scanner, but I couldn’t finish installing it because I needed a walker brain. I left it unfinished in my ship, flashing at me as a reminder.

Yesterday I was on a planet with aggressive sentinels, and decided to pick a fight to see if I could get a walker brain. One important thing to note is up to this point I thought a ‘walker’ was the quad-leg dog sentinel. I’ve killed one or two of them before and only received a quad servo, but I thought maybe you got different things, and I was just unlucky not to get a brain. (Trying not to laugh at myself as I type this.)

So I start a fight with the sentinels, and after killing two of the dogs and getting quad servos I start to get annoyed at what I think is my bad luck, when I hear the announcement that a sentinel walker was on the way. I finally clued in to the fact that what I thought was a walker was not in fact a walker, and I needed to quickly come up with a plan.

I’m sure there are better ways to kill walkers, but I jumped into my ship and took off, and spent the next few minutes flying low and slow passes above the walker while strafing it with my photon cannon. Eventually I killed the walker, got its brain, and now I have a working conflict scanner.

This game is so fun!

wtf is up with the Cronus interface?

Trying to give dude a cupcake. I keep components like plating and tubes in my suit for various things, and I keep creature pellets as well. In my freighter, I have a bunch of surplus eggs that I have no space for in storage.

The extremely limited interface for presenting Cronus with a food item limits you to 3 options. It is counting the carbon nanotubes, the creature pellets and for some insane reason the eggs that are in my freighter and that means there’s no room for it to give me the cupcake as an option to offer him. I’m assuming it’s going alphabetically… But it’s literally letting me offer him nanotubes before it lets me offer him an actual food item. Why is it not just a menu, like the trade rocket, where you can pick what to hand him, or (like people have been asking for) just shove a bunch of food in him at once for nanites? I didn’t realize it was THIS shitty.

Gardening is fun

This is my Stasis farm biologicals, a two minute run down the hall gives me enough to make almost 100 stasis devices at 15.6M units each. Couple that with my collection of S-class mines across 11 galaxies and you’ve got a moneymaking operation. …
