Approximate Location

Why is it that these can only seemingly be found on foot?

If I land and scan and it's 600m north, say. Can't be bothered to walk so get in my ship and fly roughly 1000m north. Land and scan again. Now I'm 2000m away in a completely different direction. Same if I get in my exocraft.

I might be imagining it but it feels like as soon as I get in a vehicle, it moves. Also with delivery missions it's a trade outpost I'm looking for but the ship based scan, which otherwise will detect them, doesn't. And if I land and scan for trade outpost with an exocraft, it finds another one further away.

In short I still find this mechanic incredibly infuriating and just abandoned a delivery mission as I really couldn't be arsed with this tedium. We can teleport anywhere in the galaxy but haven't got the tech to narrow down the location of something on a planet any better than a 17th century sailor with a compass and sextant. Yeah this is a whinge and I know some people like it but to me it only detracts from the enjoyment of this game. We have creative mode for those who don't like grinding, I feel like there should be an option for this also. Or just get rid of it.

Exotic ship location

Exotic ship location

Hi there folks. After quite a while ship-hunting on my own for a new exotic to add to my collection,I managed to find this beauty. It spawned straight away at an outlaw station as I landed, and I’m very satisfied with this one. Glyphs there at the bottom of the screenshot so you guys can have a look for yourself if you’re interested in picking one up. Happy hunting, Travellers !

Looking to get back into NMS after 6 years.

I was one of “those fools” who pre ordered the game, paid for the special ship and all of the bonuses and ranted and raved about how good the game was going to be. I even played for a good year or so, looking to defend it. But, I got tired, and kind of just stopped playing, but I actively never uninstalled it. It’s been passively updating on my PC for 6 years (still have the original save) and I think it’s time.

I’ve heard that this game is leaps and bounds better, with a metric ton of more content (grammar?) Than before, and I’m ready to jump back in.

However, if that much content has been added, am I going to be overwhelmed? Is there a right way to continue my journey? Should I just start over? What are some peak gameplay moments that I should strive for? And….can I actually meet other people? Or is that still not a thing?

Thanks for any and all tips and tricks!

What to do in 2024?

Hello there. I have played the game since launch and I have a save file with 95 hours played where I did all the research, maxed out my suit, collected and upgraded ships and built the allmighty activated indium farm which made me enough money for life.

That was 3 years ago. What would you recommmend that I do in the game now? I booted it up again and I love the gameplay, I just don’t know what to do. Starting over seems annoying as I’d have to redo all the busy work. The same experience I already had.

This has happened at least twice. The first time I had to pull sync data from the cloud to be able to play again. It disabled auto sync so now my backup file loads into this white screen also. I can’t get past it. I can’t push buttons I can’t hea…
