Some thoughts on Permadeath

So here I am outside my Ammonia (!) farm on my starting planet because I’m too scared to branch out to somewhere more lucrative. It seems things have changed since I got this achievement on Xbox back in 2021. So far I’ve been swarmed by pirates while warping into a system, and on attempt 2 I accidentally hit a monstrous Diplo with my mining laser. Maybe I can make it this time, I’m most concerned about the changes to hostile ship mechanics and how you can get swarmed a lot more easily than before. Also, the lack of ion batteries and life support gels at the vendors is just killing my early game strategy. Anyway, I’m at a point where I need a few more ship slots for the hyperspace upgrades and some weapons, so maybe I will make it this time.
