Caught a ride to the 256th Galaxy and it looks like we’re building frigate bases on this beautiful paradise planet!

I love building these! Every time it’s so much fun to design my own engine room, and everything about the ship. And when you pair building with skies like this, it almost brings a tear to my eyes.

I like to play the scene and make it look like it’s under construction, moving materials around and the base develops.

I should not have just spent 6hrs doing this but I’m happy that I got it this far. I’ll post more next round if anyone cares.

X Class starships

I sent the idea below in to zendesk for X class starships and salvage workshops, so I thought I’d post it here to see what you all think!

X Class starships would come in any of the mechanical ship types, and like X class modules, be anywhere from below C class bonuses to better than S class. They would be driven by a new building in settlements called the salvage workshop, and have a unique appearance but based on the existing parts (more below…)

First, salvage workshops – these would primarily be for creating X class ships. Once built, if the player provides a selection of materials – mainly salvaged ship parts gained from scrapping as a requisite, but possibly topped up with technology parts or other materials, the salvage workshop will create a ship over a timeframe (e.g. 24 hours). The ship will be a random type according to the probability of the system species and economy type (so exotics will always be rarely created, and the species influences the likelihood of the specialist types). The value of the ship will be linked to the value of materials and salvage provided, in a random ratio anywhere between 1:1 and 1:2. As secondary functions, salvage workshops would also have scrap merchants and a starship upgrade/scrapping terminal as found in space stations.

Each X class starship created will have a core cockpit chosen at random from one of the styles available for that type, but then wings, nose, fins, thrusters etc will all be picked from any of the other types’ pools. This will create patched together looking ships with odd and unusual combinations, some very nice but others definitely not. Think a flying shuttle brick with 7 fin and asymmetrical explorer wings, or an exotic ball cockpit with large hauler turbo engine wings for example.

This would create a whole lot of new looks for ship hunters, more opportunities for min maxing, a new function for settlements, and a new purpose for all the materials which come from ship scrapping, all without adding too much new design.

What are some SMALL additions or changes you'd like to see added to the game?

Every time I see feature wishlists discussed, all I see is huge new features, or massive overhauls to existing features, like ship customization, owning space stations, or faction wars. But the devil’s in the details. What are some tiny additions or changes that you want added? I’ll go first:

  • Recolor the Minotaur Hardframe – I love my minotaur, and I want to love the Hardframe upgrades, but blue is just not my color.

  • Move sentinel weapons to sentinel pillars – seems like a no brainer.

I've only hopped galaxies once. Does one to recollect glyphs?

A few years ago I finished a few of the storylines (I’m pretty sure that Atlas and I came to an agreement) and I ended up with all 16 glyphs then. I travelled to the 2nd galaxy, found my ship, then logged off. Haven’t been back to that save since. If I logged in would I have to get 16 new glyphs? Like, I think the symbols are all the same but would I have to collect them again?

New Player Here. Got gifted ~250 million Units in the Anomaly on my first visit to it. Wondering wha...

The title is what happened. I discovered the anomaly, was meeting all of the iterations, and then I saw some fellow Travelers and I started using finger gun emotes and jumping around. One of them said some stuff in Cyrillic that I didn’t understand and then filled my inventory with items that were worth more than 1000x my total earnings at that point.

I’ve played enough games like this to know that the struggle to survive and build your own equipment and base is kind of the point. So I haven’t sold anything — I just put it all in storage and have been playing as if I didn’t have it. Figured I would ask you all if you have any advice.

Is there anything you WOULD recommend spending it on? Maybe an annoying and non-immersive part of the new player experience that I can circumvent with a Scrooge McDuck swimming pool of money?
