I was today years old before realizing the exotics can go to 48 slots.
I’ve had a little yellow exotic (I think the consensus is to call it a guppie style but may be wrong) and just now realized it could go to 48 slots thanks to a screenshot I saw yesterday. Can’t remember who posted but I wish I could to thank them. With it not having the outlines around the squares like other ships I didn’t realize it was upgradeable.

Everyone, this is my new favorite Starship Upgrade Module dealer, Ras. Ras does business out of a 2 star system in Euclid, for which the glyphs are pictured. Ras’s shop is the BEST. He sells S-class upgrade modules for Hyperdrive, Pulse Engines, Shields, Photon Cannon, AND Positron Emitter. If photon + positron is your loadout, as it is mine, then you never need to shop anywhere else. As with all shops, he restocks his wares when you reload your game. Stop by Ras’s place and spend some nanites, there isn’t that much foot traffic in 2 star economies, and my dude has sentient beacons to care for.
