A base I’ve been working on for the past week, I have a staircase going down to an ocean base I’m also building.

I am currently doing the mission as I type this out. The Base Computer Archive mission seems to be never-ending, and along the way I get low tier, low worth upgrades that just makes going from computer to computer not worth it. Anyone else feel the same way? I guess if you’re more into the Lore you could find something that will interest you, but besides that, this seems like a very useless, repetitive and monotonous quest that I just need to do once to get rid of it in my Log.
Edit: I am now going back and forth between buildings that I’ve already been in, so now there isn’t even anything to loot, making it even more useless.

I found this perfect system near the core of the Euclid galaxy so right now I’m working on building a city around the settlement I have set up. Still have a long way to go but it’s a start eventually I’ll look to have them merge into one another….

I’m looking to get the game but I want to know what you do in the game. I know that you can explore, build and collect resources but what is the main goal of the game.

I’m the kind of player who has no love for Minecraft, but absolutely loved Terraria. I thought the former was too ugly but most of all too focused on building stuff for the sake of it. On the other hand, everything you did in Terraria could be (or was, in my case) in preparation of an ulterior goal, like a dangerous expedition into a new area filled with treasure or a harder boss fight. Since I wanted that treasure and I wanted to kill those bosses, they were great, concrete goals to work towards.
With that in mind, about once a year or so I’ll log in to NMS to see what the updates have to offer, hoping to latch on to it and starting a new file to ease myself back into the controls and systems. But every time, as soon as I get past the “survival” part of the game, it feels as though the game just expects you to build/explore/fight/trade for the sake of it with no ulterior goal to play towards, and this kills my motivation to play.
Am I missing something? Is there a concrete goal I could aim for? I already reached the center of the galaxy back around launch, maybe they added some new reward for that since?

I recently learned the 12 sunset glyphs portal trick and decided to do the complete 256 galaxy cycle. I plan on leaving one base in each galaxy near the center. To the people who’ve seen it all, which galaxy is the most lonely?

I just found out that you can pick any slot you want to when unlocking slots for your exosuit. The game auto selects a slot for you, but you can choose your own. This includes increasing the slots you can put technology into. Not just the standard inv…

I’ve spent many years making the stuff on my homesteads. I always kind of like to think of it like I’m making a fine wine from my vineyard. It’d certainly fill a gap in the big gap of potential consumables in the game since it doesn’t seem like we’ll ever get sandwiches, burgers, or beer… Hell pizza should be in the game. Anyway, wanted to see other traveller’s views of the drink in their playthroughs.

Are there any new worthwhile ways to get the max credits back down by purchasing items? I’m finally at the cap and find that not being able to sell items is a downer. I’ve thought of buying ships to scrap but that seems wasteful. I could imagine it as a business loss in game though. I wish we could donate items to some kind of product slot machine or massive project. I stopped selling my lucrative items a long while ago to postpone this issue. submitted by /u/Randaximus |
