Leviathan taught me how to play the game
Just finished Leviathan, I previously only had about an hour into my solo save. I hadn’t touched this game for awhile due to limited hardware and overall confusion, but came back full force after upgrading and seeing a brand spanking new expedition on display.
It was pretty damn great being dropped into the middle of something I knew nothing about. It was very “sink or swim” and you can bet I swam. Playing through this was like a crash course into the game. I learned about various hazards, inventory management, combat, survival, base building, exocrafts, upgrade rarities, pirates, sentinels, freighters, smuggling, and loot hunting by the time I was finished. Also, when you only get one life, it’s facking terrifying to get thrown multiple stories into the air by some fire tornado when you’re 4/5 of the way done with the whole thing… thank god I had decent jet pack upgrades.
I had no intention of keeping anything that was given to me for the expedition and am now happily back in my original file with next to nothing, but now armed with a wealth of knowledge from past lives and loops on how to play and enjoy the game. And I’m looking forward to doing just that!
