NMS HOT POST 2022/06/27

I’m going to get a lot of hate for this..

As a day 1 player of this game, and someone who has only stuck around in recent years to keep up with the progress and updates, I have decided to finally shelve No Man's Sky. With as much as 1,000 hours of gameplay under my belt, I feel I'm entitled to have an opinion and share it with the world.

1). The repetition is on a whole other level. Once you've seen between 20 and 40 planets, you've basically seen what the entire universe has to offer.

2). You can see what an entire planet has to offer within 100 yards of wherever you land your ship.

3). The fact that there's life in just about every single star system, completely strips the game of any enjoyment I'd usually get from adventure and exploration. —- If life were on 1 planet per every 50 to 100 star systems, it would make finding life all the more rewarding and worthwhile.

4). The planets with life do not feel very lively, given the fact that, there's usually less than 20 creatures to discover. Hell, the oceans should be teeming with life, like Subnautica. I mean, have any of you ever gone on a nature walk? There are so many sounds and an unbelievable amount of activity.

This is what No Man's Sky is lacking.

All of that said, I'm going to be preparing for STARFIELD, now. It's time for something new.

This game is perfect

I dont know if this kind of post is allowed but I just wanted to say how great this game is and how important it already is to me in so little time.

I have around 1 day of gameplay and it’s hard to describe the feeling this game gives me.

I had a dream of being an astronaut as a kid, though that dream did die a little with time, since music became my biggest passion/dream.

Still, when I found out about this game and understood all the stuff we can do on it, it definitely satisfies the part of me that would love to explore this universe.

Having my own ship, base, going anywhere I want from the dangerous and ugly planets to the beautifull and peaceful ones, it’s truly amazing.

It’s been several months since I haven’t played a game for more than 2 hours in a row, but No Man’s Sky was able to keep me playing for more than that.

Really love this game and it’s community, looking forward to many more hours of playing this masterpiece and I’m really glad the developers never gave up on it, so we can enjoy it

That’s all 🙂

Stuck on radiated water planet.

I’m stuck on a very small island without rocks or dihydrogen around me. I cannot build a portable refiner, can’t make starship launch fuel (that’s why I’m stuck), and there isn’t a nearby island within miles. There are zero rocks underwater, radiation is a big problem, no matter what I do, I cannot find anything for me to get off. And despite uranium supposedly being a huge resource here, there is none in the vicinity.

So uh... The first free freighter....

So uh... The first free freighter....

It’s supposed to be an S-class right? 😅

I still haven’t clicked the claim button because I’m still sort of in shock. I went through the dog fight event, checked out the freighter and was a B-class, but I had to shut off the game. I didn’t realize it didn’t save. When I reverted the save and did it again, the RNG seemed to have blessed me with a S Capital ship after the single accidental save scum.

I haven’t been playing that long and don’t fully understand what I’m looking at as far as quality. How good is she as freighters go?
