🧑‍🚀EXPEDITION 7-LET'S GET A FEW THINGS STRAIGHT. 🚀

Read this carefully before you respond with a nasty comment

I have been reading post after post on reddit regarding people raging, complaining and having tantrums over this expedition. Despite the fact that this particular expedition is not for me, I still get annoyed at some of the complaints on here.

Look folks, HG can’t be everything and every game to every person. Over the the years they have certainly tried to include something for everyone.

I am not an expedition enthusiast. I have done a few but I don’t lay awake at night regretting the ones I skip.

It’s a totally seperate game mode so it’s not required material to play No Man’s Sky.

I think it’s totally fair for HG to add an expedition for hardcore players. How many Hardcore expeditions have we had in the past? The answer is none (to my knowledge) so I applaud HG for including that player base.

Regarding people that complain that special rewards are tied to expeditions, Yes they are. Why shouldn’t an expedition player get some awesome, unique rewards for completing a special event?

Special events reap special rewards.

Bottom line is, there are players who want a trophy for non participation. That’s not how it works.

If you want the darn whale cape and can’t live a quality life without it then play the expedition.

Expedition 7 is not for me, I admit and I’m ok for deciding not to continue with it. I don’t hate it, I’m not angry, disappointed or anything of the sort. It just doesn’t resonate with my style of play and the way in which I enjoy playing.

I am no less of a person for skipping /quitting. I have been playing NMS since release in 2016 on two platforms. I don’t know everything about the game and still ask questions but I’m not at all clueless either.

I have played every mode and the one I personally enjoy most is normal mode. I game to remove myself from my real world, hectic life. I want chill exploration and adventure. That’s me, it doesn’t have to be you. I respect everyone’s style of playing.

Now one last point before wrapping this up.

I suspect the majority of the players IMO, that are raging are new – newish players to the game.

For those players I have some friendly advice. You really should play through the missions the regular mode game has. It will guide you through most everything you need to know and reward you with items you will need later on.

Play in “Normal Mode” your first time.

If you have questions along your journey don’t hesitate to come on reddit and ask the No Man’s Sky Community. The vast majority of members are very helpful, patient, knowledgeable and friendly people. I personally love to help people when I can. Yes, you’ll run into a few nasty people but that’s life on or off line – Que Sera Sera, don’t sweat it.

There will be other expeditions. Don’t rage over one particular expedition. Especially because I’m sure this won’t be the last Perma-death style expedition. I suspect HG will cycle the expeditions through various modes and everyone will get their own slice of the happiness pie.

Again, I’m thrilled that players who do enjoy this mode of play are having great fun and getting some awesome rewards.

Get out there and crush it you hardcore animals! 😁👍

Peace and safe travels to you all. Sincerely, eE.

After nearly a year away from the game, I have returned

Some of you may remember me (probably not I dunno). About a year ago I had to leave the community due to not having the software to run No Man’s Sky. Today my brother gave me an early Christmas present which turned out to be a really needed up computer. I set it up, downloaded NMS, and crossed my fingers as it began to run… We are back in business y’all, with a whole new universe to explore!

Any tips anyone has without spoiling any recent content (I want to discover all that myself) would be greatly appreciated, and hello to all old and new friends

Any way to get these storage boxes level?

Any way to get these storage boxes level?

So I’m trying to put down the storage boxes. However, no matter what I try, they always end up being slightly misaligned when I use the snapping function. I already excavated the ground away underneath and placed a floor for them to sit on. What am I doing wrong?

Help! My paving had a cool retro pattern, and now it's gone. Was it a bug or a feature?

Help! My paving had a cool retro pattern, and now it's gone. Was it a bug or a feature?

I started building a base next to an outpost, and the paving had this cool circle/star/petal pattern as in the second picture. The colors changed on it accordingly, it looked awesome. All pavings consistently had that pattern and I don’t recall clicking on anything to pick it. I scrapped that base and moved a bit over to start it again, and the paving was back to it’s boring self. I went back to the outpost to recreate the first try, but paving is still nonpatterned. I tried clicking on all colors/materials but I can’t get it to be like that again. Am I missing something, am I tripping??

I'd really appreciate some kind of "vault" for MTs and ships.

I’m a collector, and I like keeping unique things. I have a couple of expedition ships, as well as the Atlas Staff from the last expedition. The staff and ships are not in my regular use pool of stuff, but getting rid of them appears to mean that I can’t ever get them back. At the expedition rewards vendor, all these things say “previously claimed.” which I’m assuming means they’re one and done. With such a small number of ships and MT’s that we’re able to keep (relative to the massive number of cool looking stuff you can collect.) I feel like a lot of very precious space is getting eaten up by keeping these unique things.

I feel stuck between a rock and hard place. I want to keep the cool looking unique stuff that I don’t think I can get back if I scrap, but I also would like more room.

Even if we can’t keep anything other than the most essential tech on them in “storage” I think it would be great if we had some way to keep more than just 6 MTs and 12 ships. For a game that’s primarily about seeing everything and discovering stuff, we don’t get much in the way of space for the things that matter.
