Will I enjoy No Man’s Sky in 2023 when I love single player story driven RPGs?

Haven't player No Man's Sky before, and I'm not into survival games. Subnautica is not my thing. I do love games like Skyrim, Cyberpunk and Witcher 3, but also space combat sims like Everspace 2, traditional X-Wing and Tie Fighter, Star Wars Squadrons, etc. I actually loved Starlink Battle For Atlas and I thought it looked like No Man's Sky lite, although I never played NMS before.

I'm open to new experiences and love to let a game surprise me. I always was afraid of MMO's but gave Elder Scrolls Online a chance and loved it, albeit only the single player story experience 🙂

It's on Xbox Game Pass, which I have. So I wonder: will I enjoy this game? And if so, do you have any advice on how to get invested in any main campaign? Thanks!

No Man's Sky space

I can't be the only one who wants to see more biome and planet types now

Look all these updates are great and yes there is still something on the table like capital vs capital battles ( given the recent update Orbit, the way Exploration mission received update it’s coming inevitably). But after space receiving so much attention, can we please again shift back to planets?
I didn’t play game before NEXT, so I don’t what it’s like but it does shows, especially lately that planets are little more than over-glorified resource and money pits. Keep exotic and extreme exotic planets, but perhaps add more twists to them? However, that’s not enough, we need more freaking biomes and unique planet properties for common planets.

Or am I among those minority people thinking this?

Setting Up Frigate Missions

I honestly don’t know if I’m wasting my time crafting frigate upgrades.

I select frigates that match the mission type, making sure to have a 5-star rating. Most of my ships are S-class now. I add 3 frigate upgrades to each mission (also matching them to the mission type). I have several freighter upgrades that help with various things.

I genuinely don’t know if I’m getting better returns by including the frigate upgrades or not. I left them off yesterday and I actually got more stuff.

I just wonder what’s the best way to maximize the success of frigate missions.
