An outpost for sulfur gas extraction on the blazing moon, where temperatures rise to 300 degrees celsius during storms; Behind it , is a fallen expedition frigate, whose role now is to be the landscape of this dangerous planet, with only glittering crystals and wind around to remind him of the bright stars through which he roamed the endless space of no man’s sky. submitted by /u/dupamaupy |

Pure carnage. Kinda cool how this game still comes up with silly stuff out of RNG luck. submitted by /u/Space_Harpoon [link] [comments]

It is the lack of such strong elements of horror that makes exploration very shallow in places. You can see an abandoned building in the distance. What’s in there? Why was it abandoned? I would like to see shivers down my spine at such moments at the thought that there may be some unspeakable evil hiding there, just waiting for the stray Traveler. This moment accompanied me for the first time when I docked to an abandoned space station and I was greeted by the red glow at the entrance. Flying into the darkness and fear of leaving the ship. It is a pity that apart from the atmosphere element, the station turned out to be completely empty and disappointing. Logs in abandoned buildings and terminals suggest that some dark things were happening to their authors, but we do not have a chance to find out about it ourselves in the game. I hope Hello Games will develop this element more by drawing inspiration from various games like “Dead Space”, “Alien”, “Pitch Black” where the threat comes when the planet goes dark. It’s not about just placing monsters that can kill us quickly, but maybe something like various anomalies, multidimensional creatures or things even using cheap “jumpscares” but catching the player by surprise and not able to be counteracted by a powerful character with a lot of suit upgrades. submitted by /u/Shinucy |

Hey guys I just want to ask if it is possible for a new player to finish the current expedition before the end of day tomorrow? I brought the game yesterday and I just discovered the existence of the NPC space station in game. I know it is kind of cra…

Anyone else dive straight into being a space bounty hunter for no particular reason whatsoever??? Barely 60 hours in and I’m completely obsessed! Can’t believe I slept on this game for so long, thanks everyone for helping me get started, those gifts at the nexus are a game changer lmao submitted by /u/TheParticular_Isopod |

Living ships? – jfc I’m getting farscape flashbacks. The clock reset trick didn’t work so I’m.waiting 4 days for this damn quest. And reading a bit further you endn up getting a series of glyphs for the final part? I havnt even beat the main story yet?
Mounts? The hell did I miss? I couldn’t figure out why people had bubbles with a rocket pack on them like some mr bubbles meets predator meets Boba fett thing.
I can’t believe the differences that are in the game. Since when have there been giant dune-esque sand worms in the game? The goddamn thing was probably 3 times the width of my spaceship, and flipped me over, onky to see him go off into the distance.
And booiiiiiii if you saw my face when the first random ass anomaly showed up in flight. Not even the giant ass skulls, the weird ass other ones. One was a GIANT FUCKING BRAIN.
I FEEL LIKE A COMPLETE NOOB. But thats good. 10/10 will play again.

I used to have expeditions take from 1 hour to 4. And now my shortest timed expedition is 5 hours and the other 4 are 20+ hours. Can anyone help explain why tf that happened? It was fun doing two-4 expeditions in a day. submitted by /u/I…

I’m a collector, and I like keeping unique things. I have a couple of expedition ships, as well as the Atlas Staff from the last expedition. The staff and ships are not in my regular use pool of stuff, but getting rid of them appears to mean that I can’t ever get them back. At the expedition rewards vendor, all these things say “previously claimed.” which I’m assuming means they’re one and done. With such a small number of ships and MT’s that we’re able to keep (relative to the massive number of cool looking stuff you can collect.) I feel like a lot of very precious space is getting eaten up by keeping these unique things.
I feel stuck between a rock and hard place. I want to keep the cool looking unique stuff that I don’t think I can get back if I scrap, but I also would like more room.
Even if we can’t keep anything other than the most essential tech on them in “storage” I think it would be great if we had some way to keep more than just 6 MTs and 12 ships. For a game that’s primarily about seeing everything and discovering stuff, we don’t get much in the way of space for the things that matter.
