The core of a planet. Has anyone else dared to go there?
I’ve been exploring planetary collisions and falling inside them in the Minotaur and seeing how far down I can get. Well I think I’ve made it to the core of a planet because after falling at terminal velocity of 200 units a second for a lil more than 8 minutes, I started slowing down and almost came to a complete stop while simultaneously spinning around faster and faster and being teleported between locations in the area. I could tell because of my coordinates bouncing around like crazy. It was right around 98,420 units down when I was spinning and teleporting the most while falling the slowest. It was crazy. This compared to data I’ve found, would be roughly 128 units from the exact core of a medium sized planet. (I used the medium sized planet circumference of 619,200 units divided by pi to get the diameter of 197,097.5, and then divided that by 2 to get the radius of 98,548.7. This number compared to 98,420 is where I got the difference of roughly 128 units.) So I’ve made it to the core of a medium sized planet by falling through the rip in space time caused by the planetary collision! I’ve only done it in the Minotaur and whenever I exit it I get instantly teleported to the surface of the planet. Thanks to u/Vosotross for doing all that math so I could confirm! I gotta upload a video but I have these shots for now. Who else has been down to a planet’s core? I can’t be the only one. 🚀
