NMS HOT POST 2023/11/26

Ok so I finally got the game and oh my… I feel like I need a notepad to play lol

SO MANY THINGS. This is not like subnautica (like yall lead me to believe lol) it’s like playing 3 subnauticas all at once and they all have different crafting recipes lol I’m a couple of hours in and have made several small bases around other planets. I’m kind of a hoarder in games and always build many bases in case I have an identity crisis and need a fresh start lol this game def provides that. HOWEVER… I am so confused most of the time when I’m playing. I’m following the tutorial/story and am at a point where it’s telling me to just explore and look for clues. + few side quests. I noticed a few times I triggered a questionnaire of a kind where I didn’t know the answers to but I think if I could look at the directory or whatever, I would know? But it wouldn’t let me exit the dialog (with a building lol) and I basically couldn’t answer any questions right and there was no second chance at it. How can I prepare for these? Also, the lack of storage is driving the hoarder in me insane, I CRAVE storage units, do these exist? So far I’m just selling a bunch of things at the station. Do you build a base on every planet? How do you even pick one to settle? Also, are the planets repetitive? Last question (sorry), what do people do in multiplayer here?

Idea: Orbital ship yards

Just as the title says.

A landable (it’s a word I’m sure) Orbital shipyard that spawns in the orbit (duh) of random planets.

Regular ships can and will land here as they do at trade stations but the lure is being able to craft your own freighter.

This includes all current freighter types and classes.

The initial build would probably be time gated somehow like expanding your settlement and the class is upgradeable by LOTS of nantes.

Discuss!

Keep spawning outside of base?

Hey not sure if anyone else is having this issue. I like to build my bases a stair level or two over the ground: It keeps the terrian from getting wiggy when I’m slapping down pieces and it looks nice out the windows. Consistently, I’m finding when I teleport to a base I spawn underneath it, and when I reload a save, I end up spawning in, again, under the base. In the past I would avoid this issue by building a room UNDER my save point and I would just spawn into the room but now no matter what I’m spawning on the ground. This isn’t a bug report, I’m just curious if any other Travelers are experiencing the same thing?

EDIT: Just adding: I’m playing on PC.

I've only hopped galaxies once. Does one to recollect glyphs?

A few years ago I finished a few of the storylines (I’m pretty sure that Atlas and I came to an agreement) and I ended up with all 16 glyphs then. I travelled to the 2nd galaxy, found my ship, then logged off. Haven’t been back to that save since. If I logged in would I have to get 16 new glyphs? Like, I think the symbols are all the same but would I have to collect them again?
