How to Repair the Expedition 3 Ship Without Larval Cores
For Expedition 3, I’ve noticed most people I’ve seen are saying finding an abandoned building for the larval cores is hard, which it was for me as well. Since part of the expedition requires you to travel FTL, you need those cores to fix the ship. Here’s a guaranteed strategy I used to fix the hyper drive that doesn’t require you to find larval cores, or actually any of the three ingredients needed to repair it.
This won’t work until you can achieve flight by fixing the other systems, sorry.
- Take off and fly to rendezvous 1, which is within the system
- Complete that milestone and claim the reward which is 5,000,000 credits (you could alternatively just sell all the storm crystals and ancient bones you’ve accumulated by this point to make 5mil)
- Go to the space station, buy coordinates for a derelict freighter
- Use the emergency beacon and summon a freighter
- In a chest you can loot next to the first locked door in the freighter are 3 repair kits, which can be subbed in for ANY component needed for repair, including larval cores
- Repair your hyperdrive
- Rendezvous 2
- Golden vector time
- ?????
- Profit
