When I’m done with Artemis (again), Cugnatachh (#190) is next

When I'm done with Artemis (again), Cugnatachh (#190) is next

I initially planned on staying in Eissentam as usual, but then decided to go to the 19th. But, the 59th has a better shade of blue. So I aimed for that. Until I discovered that the 190th is the last galaxy with that same shade of blue.

Now that I know how quickly I can get to the galactic center, I've aimed for 190. Low population and, IRL, one of my favorite NYC parks is located directly above the 190th Street station…..and the trunk service color is Blue.

It lines up perfectly

Last time there was an update...

Someone posted a sub saying “HG, please charge us for the next update!”.

It got downvoted. We all love NMS and one of the thing that drives that is the devs’ passion and commitment to the community. Sean said in an interview “maybe we’re just terrible at business”.

They are a small team though, and I’m sure they do need our support here and there. Here’s what you can do:

  • Buy their other games (Joe Danger, Last Campfire)
  • Buy copies on other platforms
  • Buy NMS as a gift for friends (especially whilst it’s on sale right now)
  • Spread the word
  • Keep the love

I’m about the buy Joe Danger myself for my phone now, and I will always be loyal to HG for their amazing passion and commitment. Their next game will surely be in my game library the moment it hits the shelves, and whatever this update is, some people will be happy and other won’t… can’t please everyone all the time. But, personally, I love this game and this community and I am one satisfied Interloper. Keep up the good work, HG!

Five years ago I wrote this:

“I cannot wait to boot up the game and just walk in any direction, exploring. To see what’s behind that cliff, or what’s inside that deep mysterious cave. Imagine climbing a mountain during sunset and just take a break up there. Hearing the wind and see how day slowly turns into night. Seeing blinking stars appear in the nightsky. Knowing that if you want to, you can get your own spaceship and visit those stars. I’m definitely ready to lose myself in this game. Experience the feeling of being completely lost somewhere and not knowing what to come next”.

This dilemma still holds up to this day.

It’s one of those games you can play however you want. As an adult with a full-time job and family, I value the chill exploration. No need to “keep up” with anything.

The link below is an email I wrote to Hello Games in September 2016:

With an incredible team as HG and their hard work, I can’t be anything else than grateful for what you’ve done for the game and yet alone, the community ❤️

Thank you.

That AtlasPass v3 door in space stations... [SPOILER]

OK, apologies if this is a worn topic; I’m fairly new to the game and still discovering things.

Early on when I was learning my way around space stations, I found that room off the side of the technology merchants’ area, with a little hallway leading to a locked door that said “AltasPass v3 Required”. My interest was piqued. I eventually found the recipe for an AtlasPass v3 and saw that it needed Emeril. So I looked up Emeril and found that it can only be found on planets around green stars, and that required a special update to my ship’s hyperdrive. Now I was really interested! Something that takes that much work must have an interesting reward, right?

So I eventually got my hyperdrive upgraded, visited a green star, found an Emeril deposit on a planet, and mined it. Crafted my pass, and I was good to go.

The next station I visited, I ran straight to that door, opened it, and… WTF? A hydroponics garden? That’s it?

I felt a bit like Ralphie in A Christmas Story when he finally decoded his Ovaltine message. Is that really all there is to this room? Does the AtlasPass v3 have other uses?

No complaints here, it pushed me to explore a little more which is part of the point of this game. I just thought it was a little weird to have to go to so much trouble for such a pointless room.

Too Many Low Difficulty Frigate Expeditions

I re-boarded my freighter after a lengthy reconnaissance mission and wanted to send my frigates out.

So, I visit The Navigator, and he gives me the list of expeditions (not Expeditions) and it’s all low star trips, three 2** and two 1*.

Would love to see more 3‘s, as well as any 4* and 5*****, which I’ve never seen. What’s up with that?

That’s all.

Gray, over and out.
