Make expeditions permanent or Make them available as missions on all saves and game modes

I can see they have put a huge amount of effort into this expedition.

My favorite expedition so far was the titan worm expedition, it had really nice mechanics of killing giant worms and it was awesome, the storyline was also very cool.

Every expeditions so far has a storyline, some better then others but all of them have some lore like in-game story missions.

It doesn’t make sense to put so much effort into something that will never be available again, I understand doing things like that for MMOs, but NMS is a single-player game with multiplayer features, so it doesn’t make sense to have time limited events.

This causes FOMO and makes a lot of people not wanting to play the game because of how much cool things they have missed.

We don’t have much comestic items for no man’s sky, and now most of them are locked behind expedition’s that have already been finished.

For example, we have 4 jetpacks, but only 2 of them are unlockable through the game, the other 2 are gone forever and forgotten with the expeditions. Capes suffers the same problem, we have 3 right now but only 1 can be unlocked through the normal game.

I wouldn’t mind expedition’s being time gated if we could get the rewards in-game, but that’s not the case. We have few cosmetics and most of them are locked behind finished expeditions.

A possible new player may not want to buy the game because they will never have those cosmetics or items that they missed, and we have very few customization items in NMS so lock part of them is just not smart.

Also, we have some very nice features in expedition’s that we will never see on the game again, like those giant sand worms that we could kill on that old titan worm expedition, the time loop from now and other features that just exist in certain expeditions.

Also, not everyone likes to have to create a new save for them, they could be convert into missions inside the core game, with the option of creating a new save or using your existing save to play them.

“Oh but the idea is having limited-time items”

That’s just not a good idea, we don’t have much cosmetics items in first place, and putting the new ones into time limited missions is just bad game design.

We can see that the devs put a lot of effort into the expeditions, making new game mechanics and storylines, and they just disappear and are forgotten after the expedition ends.

If you guys don’t want to make the itens or expeditions available on the core game with normal game saves, at least don’t make the expeditions be time-limited.

Please take out this time gate for expeditions, let us play them whenever we want. You can just maintain the expedition game mode with the option to choose which expedition to play, without any time gates.

And it’s not like we can’t get the item, who uses PC or Xbox can just get it thought save editor, but it’s not nice to have to use this tool to get the items, just make them available on the core game, it will not hurt the game it will actually improve it.

I am day one player and have more than 1000 hours in NMS, I have the game on all platforms and it’s my favorite game of all time, but this time gated content it’s not nice for no man’s sky, actually it isn’t nice for any game, it works for MMOs but NMS isn’t a MMO…

Learning the value of NMS by killing my darlings

Like a lot of people, I’ve played NMS since launch. Occasionally, I’d go away for a bit and then return to it to see the new updates. I’ve also gotten friends into the game and helped them along the way. I’ve always kept my main save. There’s something about the continuity of my one character who has been across the stars several times over and collected odds and ends from places I will never see again.

Today, I had an interesting idea. Along my journey I’ve left bases. Some of them were more fleshed out homes that I used for long periods of time. Others were cobbled together out of necessity for the tasks at hand. I decided to go through and destroy all but two bases. I am taking the time to deconstruct each base piece by piece, and it’s quite amazing how many vivid memories resurface as I do this. I could tell you what was going on in my life during each base’s construction. One that I will never destroy was built with a close friend, and I found a hidden message terminal that I left near a mine shaft that congratulated him on the birth of his firstborn son. We had been playing the game a lot since he was home with his expectant wife, and that was the last time that we played before he stepped into fatherhood.

I think a big part of No Man’s Sky is how therapeutic it can be. I’ve escaped a lot of bad days by logging in and exploring the stars. I have found it extremely peaceful to return those locations to their natural state and revisit a few parts of my recent life while I’m at it.

I typically wouldn’t see myself as the person to make a sappy post about No Man’s Sky, but I must say that it is truly amazing how each floorboard and each wall captured some sort of memory.

Have you ever went back to those dusty locations in your saves?

Played a mix of questline and free exploration so far; okay to jump off and warp my way into the cen...

Hi, just a question for orientation whether you’d recommend to complete / finish the main questline from here:

Status Main: Finished the Star Seed at Atlas.

Status Sub: all base NPC quests done except some exo-vehicle remainings

Technical progress: Base on ground done (more later for fun), happy with my ship and a nice freighter with freshly upgraded 4200 hyperdrive range which has been the spark for this question 🙂

How to lose or discourage a player from following my friends and I?

Maybe a bit of a strange question. My friends and I know this guy and he’s basically a stalker.

That’s the long and short of it.

I played around 100 hours of No Man’s sky and they decided to start playing it again and my friends have been looking for another game to play multiplayer with so we all joined and started playing.

Within one day of playing, and me streaming it once, this guy who basically is stalking me and my friends, saw in my stream and immediately showed up while my friend was playing last night and started harassing her, messing with her base, he built a base next to her, and now she wants to leave and go make another base somewhere else and not be found. She told me he was bringing sentinels into her bace, she doesn’t know how to really play super well yet and fight, and he started building around her stuff, trying to chat her up and it was making her uncomfortable. He kept requesting that she go to voice chat and she kept refusing and trying to hint she wasn’t interested. He then friended her in game but she refused to friend him back.. I know all this because she called me in the middle of night on discord complaining about it to me.

Unfortunately this guy used to be my friend so he does know where some of my stuff is but if we all were to move, and go somewhere else, what’s the stop him from following us again and keep trying to build bases near us and harass people?

I don’t think there’s a block feature, I’m just wondering if there’s some ways I could use to avoid him? And at the same time are there things I can do in the game to make him have a very uncomfortable experience anytime he’s around us so that he stops wanting to harass me and my friends?

I don’t know why no man’s sky doesn’t have a block player feature. This guy definitely keeps trying to bring drama in with me and my friends when when he’s gone no one has any problems with one another.

My friends are enjoying this game immensely, and this is a mother and her child and some of her family including now her father might want to play, but now this development has sort of put a dampener on things and I would like everybody to enjoy the game experience as much as possible without this guy mucking everything up, which he definitely will try to do knowing him. Everyone already tried telling him in the past they were not interested in talking to him anymore and even stopped communicating so showing up at my friends base and trying to force an interaction and basically move next store was definitely creepster level.
