I mean, I’ve been browsing this subreddit for a few days now, and all I’ve read about the story is, either it’s incomprehensible, it sucks, or at best it’s interesting, but nothing more.
Being a big sci-fi fan, I find the game’s story a kind of mix between Matrix, Mass Effect and 2001: A Space Odyssey.
What I like most of all in the stories is the mystery. Not the complete mystery where you don’t understand anything, but the mystery that makes you ask questions, that lets the viewer (or actor in the case of a video game) imagine what could have happened off-screen.
And NMS does this very well. The story answers a number of questions, but leaves the player to make up his or her own mind about key points of the story.

People when I tell them I play NMS: "Oh yeah, you can fly around in space and discover planets and awesome stuff like that in that game, right?" Me: "…yes." submitted by /u/mikedidathing [link] [comments]

I am playing the PS5 version of the game and I am up to the section in the quest where I am seeing the Cartographers, I have seen the Vykeen one and now I have to see the Korvax, but after visiting numerous Korvax systems, there is no Cartographers that will engage on this like the Vykeen one did. Is there something I haven’t done yet? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

I’m on a series x, is anyone else having real trouble landing sometimes? I’m not trying to land on anything other than flat land. At first I thought it was a mechanic that stops you landing within a certain distance of the search objective or something but it’s not always on a mission.

So is there any rhyme or reason to the space stations, or is everyone just hopping from station to station, looking for the right number of Supercharged slots?
I know some people are posting glyphs, but I’m wondering if anyone has figured out any kind of pattern.
Also, FWIW, the refiner exploit works for ship parts… 😜
It IS kind of fun to hunt for parts, though.
