I always plan on going to bed after this next planet, and then….

Hello Games and No Man’s Sky have been exceptional at providing so many lovely content updates since launch. And they’ve updated so many visual components as well…but mainly relegated to improving and adding to assets that already exist in the game. Flora, Fauna, Lasers, VFX, space whales etc. etc.
But relatively few of the “beauty” updates with the notable exceptions of NEXT and (edit) ORIGINS. have touched on improving terrain creation.
I can’t help but think that these kind of fundamental updates are being avoided, as to not hurt the base building components of the game.
Do you feel this has become a log jam that is preventing NMS from evolving more complex and dynamic terrain features?
Would you be willing to lose your bases for them to update these features?
Is there a solution that could be implemented to let them keep growing fundamental changes without blowing away all the bases?
Let me know what you think.

No trailer yet, it released unannounced all at different times, no official patch notes even with the update being out now. It all just seems very off compared to how they have always dropped updates. Also 6 months for only an expedition is unheard of and I’ve been here since NEXT released for Xbox.
Since we don’t have official patch notes, I wonder if Sean is possibly hiding something either for tomorrow or whenever the Omega Expedition starts or ends.
I could just be getting my hopes up and this update really is just an Expedition and some other small stuff, but idk. It all just seems off to me.

It took me a good 10-15 minutes to find this next system to jump to – I’m near the end of my journey to the centre but I’m still fussing over which system to go to next. Used to be a time when a 3-star economy would suffice. Then Interceptors came along and it had to be a dissonant system as well. Now we have Atlantid multi-tools and it makes sense to make sure that Dissonant 3-star system is run by the Korvax, as the monoliths you visit to activate the Interceptors “brains” also contain Atlantid technology if they are Korvax monoliths. So, I filter by race now, check all the blue systems for dissonance and look for 3 star economies. What is your process? Are you still on The Journey and if so, do you just rush to the furthest system or do you take time to be selective? Do you just click at random? submitted by /u/Peace_On_Drugs |

Here’s the full tour. Please check it out! Also… it’s big, really big it needs time to render especially for older gen consoles. submitted by /u/bu11nuk3 |

It always bothered me somewhat that we have these plants we can cultivate for the purpose of building or crafting further items (or making loads of money on the market in the case of NipNip buds), but the plants you want to gather from for ingredients remain wild and untamed.
It’d be nice to be able to set up a farm base proper or have a microfarm on a freighter for your heptaloid wheats or impulse beans…

I wish the planets had an actual map in the discovery screen, where you could see each waypoint discovered and spin the globe. I feel like it would very simply add a lot of depth to a shallow experience So many things they could flesh out in this game…
