Expedition 7 Tips

This Expedition is a survial expedition – play it like that!

1) You need to die once to get a milestone – do this right at the beginning

2) don’t linger on the first planet. Get your ship repaired, if you can grab some money, thats great. But don’T try to make millions.

3) head to the space station – remember, you can enlarge your inventory twice per system (station/anomaly)

4) always use the free inventory for the “cargo” inventory since it can carry double the amount of the normal one.

5) Ion batteries, life support gel are your live-saver: one “cargo” space can hold 200, use that. Shild batteries for your spacecraft are great as an insurance, too.

6) Often damage goes right to your health points. Store some animal remains (like cat liver), eating them restores your healt points!

7) You know who neither cares about fall-damage (that much) or extreme storms: your minotaur. Yes, it’s slow and cumbersome – but it can get you around on a planet alive.

8) The following rewards from other expeditions help, collect them asap: golden vector (of course), Normandy (since you start with a freigther you can send it to make you money) and the “alien monster egg” (hatching it counts for one of the milestones)

9) you start with a freighter – free storage room! Plus, with a bit of money you can build all ten storage “cubes”

10) The base milestone will send you to the wrong planet: the base has to be built on one of the planets with a meeting point (or at least the same class).

I think I messed up.

I was doing the Atlas/Artemis missions. When I portaled to a new system, I didn’t know it would break all my stuff so I freaked out. I spawned on a very radioactive planet and almost died. I found my ship just in time. Fixed enough to get to the space station and warp back to my hone base. Now I seem to be stuck on the Atlas mission, and every time I talk to the atlas it asks for a heart of the sun, and nothing happens. I go and talk to Polo and Nada and they’re no help. I can’t help but think I messed up by warping home. Anyone ran into this?

What's better than a Paradise Planet? An Earthlike Bountiful Planet with gravity storms, that's what.

I have discerned what I think is a sort of unwritten two-week rule in the NMS community. You get to sit on discoveries and play with them for two weeks, but after the honeymoon the brotastic nature of the NMS community requires that one bequeath one’s discoveries for all grah brahs to enjoy.

Guys, gals & nonbinary pals, I hereby introduce all y’all to what I think is my most significant NMS discovery, the planet Ebradin (even its original name is pretty sweet):

It’s just gorgeous. I’ve never seen dissonance blend so well into what would otherwise be an Earth-type paradise planet. The sky and water can get reddish, but otherwise the whole landscape is exactly what everyone is looking for. The lifeforms aren’t just abundant — every single one has character.

There’s the adorable hopping shroom cluster.

Maybe you’ve seen those before. But I’d never seen glowing fish that just fly around before Ebradin.

The landscape at night is stunningly beautiful. It’s like this everywhere.

“But oh no, storms!” you might say. Chill, anomalbroski. Ebradin would never harsh your NipNip buzz with dangerous storms. The storms on Ebradin are rather totally awesome.

Gravity storms! In exchange for a minor drag on your life support, you can jetpack hundreds (maybe thousands?) of units in the air with just a basic rig. Gravity storms mean you shoot into the air with minimal jetpacking, and on top of that you get a massive jetpack tank boost in a gravity storm, because of course you do.

Finally, the gravity storms make the planet insanely buggy. Portions of landscapes will lift off the ground and twist into themselves like a deranged MC Escher print. They will melt your brain and crash your PS5. Enjoy!

Ebradin is located in Euclid, so even novice travellerinos can hang ten on these gravity waves.

Thank you NMS community. Don’t say I never did anything nice for you.
