Can someone at Hello Games please get rid of this? I’ve played NMS for years and the ships flying overhead were pleasant visual distractions as I went about my business in the game..now everytime two or more ships fly overhead, the resulting shrieking …

I bought this game in anticipation for the VR2 launch and it has blown me away from day one!
Even before the new graphics update it was my favorite game purely for the insane depth and freedom of gameplay.
I know I’m late to the party but I’m 40 hours in and can’t get away from it.
After watching a bunch of flat screen videos of the game I feel like fans of this game are missing out in a massive way by not playing in VR.
Man, when you make that first planetary approach in VR…it’s like, ok.. THIS is the stuff I dreamed about with my mates in 1989 while playing Sonic and Mario.
THIS is what I paid for.
Hello Games…I salute you!

It is the lack of such strong elements of horror that makes exploration very shallow in places. You can see an abandoned building in the distance. What’s in there? Why was it abandoned? I would like to see shivers down my spine at such moments at the thought that there may be some unspeakable evil hiding there, just waiting for the stray Traveler. This moment accompanied me for the first time when I docked to an abandoned space station and I was greeted by the red glow at the entrance. Flying into the darkness and fear of leaving the ship. It is a pity that apart from the atmosphere element, the station turned out to be completely empty and disappointing. Logs in abandoned buildings and terminals suggest that some dark things were happening to their authors, but we do not have a chance to find out about it ourselves in the game. I hope Hello Games will develop this element more by drawing inspiration from various games like “Dead Space”, “Alien”, “Pitch Black” where the threat comes when the planet goes dark. It’s not about just placing monsters that can kill us quickly, but maybe something like various anomalies, multidimensional creatures or things even using cheap “jumpscares” but catching the player by surprise and not able to be counteracted by a powerful character with a lot of suit upgrades. submitted by /u/Shinucy |

I honestly don’t understand the appeal of ruining such a chill game. You spend hours building a base, something you think would be fun and interesting for other players to visit, and then POW— you log in for another session and some crotchmonkey has built his weak prefab base right in the middle of yours. Twice now. Apparently the trick they use is setting up their base juuust outside yours, and building into it.I’ll probably get in trouble for leaving this appropriate message next the their base computer, but whatever– my base is ruined anyway. An update would be nice, Hello Games. submitted by /u/PizzaRohz |

So, aside from lighting that’s way too Klingon (clearly these pirates are Star Trek fans), I’m wondering if anyone’s taken a space walk to check things out. I did. And I found 3 armed anti-freighter torpedoes under the main bridge and hangar. You know, where our entire base is. It’s sitting on top of a massive cache of mass destruction. Booby trap for the interloper who dares to force them into submission? Or a smart move, and if the latter, where’s the detonator? Who has the launch codes? Are they still on board? Let’s figure this out. And while we’re at it, figure out how to get the gun turrets on this mighty vessel to actually do something in a fire fight…
Note: no regrets. I had come to loathe the star destroyer-lite freighter that used to be the coolest thing in space. It felt good to make a huge change like this, and docking is considerably easier and more enjoyable now. But those torpedoes… damn. Sense of unease intensifies.

If you’re in space and want to escape sentinal interceptors without fighting them, and you’re past the anomaly part of the story, you can summon the anomaly and jump inside, and it will remove your wanted rating.
Space stations work too, but depending on how far away they are, it can be a pain with a disabled pulse drive.
I figured this one out a few weeks ago, and I use it all the time if I’m not in the mood for a prolonged sentinal space fight.

I started playing this game last Christmas and it took awhile for me to get the hang of it. Eventually I found myself drawn to Gravitinos and started farming them exploring between harvests (mostly looking for silver). I learned base building this way and made my first billion units. I know making money isn’t the point of the game but it felt like an accomplishment for me and I was curious how everyone else made their first billion?

After playing casually for 100 hours on normal mode, I switched to easy mode. In easy mode, acquiring ships and resources became free and unlimited. However, I quickly found it boring because I no longer needed to work for anything. Switching back to n…
